P2S First Layer Test Takes Almost an Hour Due to Calibration

I’m having issues while trying to do a first layer test on the P2S. When printing with ABS, I’m seeing gaps between the lines in some areas, so I wanted to run a proper first layer test.

However, when I start a first layer test with ABS, the printer spends about 30 minutes in the heat preconditioning phase. After that, it performs a full bed calibration. Altogether, these steps take around 52 minutes for a print that itself only takes 25 minutes.

What’s more confusing is that when I print a large part that doesn’t fully cover the bed, the printer does not perform these calibration steps, and I end up with first layer issues. The printer seems to detect the first layer test and forces the user to wait nearly an hour, which is really frustrating.

At this point, I want to run my tests and manually adjust my Z-offset values in the printer start G-code in Bambu Studio, but waiting close to an hour before every print is extremely annoying.

Additionally, this might even be a printer-side issue. I’ve already run all of these calibrations multiple times, including the heated bed calibration. Having them repeated before every print makes it feel like even Bambu doesn’t fully trust its own printer.

I try to contact bambu and It says this

“For large model prints, the printer does perform calibration, but it does not take an excessive amount of time. Regarding the issue you mentioned about a specific corner, under normal operation, the printer’s motion system should not cause localized variation in a particular area.Therefore, we still suspect that the build plate may not have been cleaned thoroughly. Please refer to the following guide to properly clean the build plate:”

I think this is not the problem, I think the problem would be the heat in chamber that change from when it calibrate the bed leveling and when it effectly print, the long calibration for the first line test resolve this but is frustrating wait an hour or so or calibration before printing.
