The PETG-CF filament looks interesting on the Bambu store and I’m interested in trying it. But Bambu isn’t clear if this will work on the P1S. Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks.

However, it is not recommended to directly print fiber-reinforced filaments such as glass fiber or carbon fiber, before an extruder and hotend upgrade is done
I print PETG-CF on my P1P as it’s considerable stiffer than PETG. If it does start to bend it doesn’t break so easily. I bought the BambuLabs Complete Hotend Assembly (0.6) but that was too large for some work, and didn’t want to buy another complete assembly. So bought a hotend with brass and hardened steel nozzles (in a range of sizes) off AliExpress and all has been fine for a year. As well as being much cheaper than Bambu it’s really easy to change the screw-in nozzles rather than replace the whole hotend every time.
I purchased a hardened steel extruder gear and the complete hardened hotend assembly. I was hoping to print with PETG-CF. I’ve been watching videos and it seems the hotend assembly is easy to replace. However, replacing the gear assembly doesn’t seem so easy and I am having cold feet. Do I really need to replace the stainless steel gear with the hardened gear? My gut tells me the stainless steel gear should still work fine for harder filaments, but any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
It should work fine, sure. It’ll just wear much quicker than the hardened ones. Same with the nozzle. Stainless steel works - but will wear much quicker with CF filament.
I don’t know about your mechanical skills but if you don’t have 2 left hands its easy to change the gear assembly. Just follow the Bambu Wiki instructions.
the extruder gear assembly looks intimidating but trust me its not that hard to do if you want i can find the video tutorial i used and link it so you have a guide on how to do it
Do you happen to have a link to the nozzles you bought on AliExpress?
I’m looking up upgrade my P1S’s stock nozzle to print carbon fiber.
