Polyterra PLA profile for P2S

Hi, this is my first 3D printer, bought the P2S Combo because I was told it had filament profiles for Polyterra PLA.

I can see that it has no filament profiles except for Bambu filament. But I have bought lots of Polyterra PLA.

I have found on this forum how to create a new filament profile, but I have no idea what numbers to use in the profile.

Can anyone please help me?

I don’t see anything specific for the P2S so you may have to create your own based on these numbers.

Seems a lot of people start with the generic profile (for any unlisted filament) and see how it prints and tweak from there.
To see generic profiles you will need to check All or Generic under Vendor in System Filaments.

For Polyterra PLA, I would just use the Bambu matte PLA profiles.
I’m very convinced, that it is exactly the same material. I had white from both BambuLab and Polyterra. The Bambu ran out in the middle of a print and continued with Polyterra and you couldn’t even tell, where I switched rolls.

In addition, all 3rd party filaments have reduced flow rate and therefore longer print times when they usually can print just as fast as the Bambu filaments.

Only for HF PETG with a high flow nozzle, I needed individual settings for higher flow rates.

I found these, and noticed at P2S wasn’t listed.

When you say I can use the same numbers, can I open these files as text and see the numbers to manually create a file in handy app or how?

I have contacted Polymaker, since I too use a lot of PolyTerra & PolyLite. They told me that they plan to publish filament profiles for the P2S “in the future”, after enough reliable data is available to them. In the mean time I use the Generic settings and they do very well, so I don’t see a reason for spending time on trying to make my own custom filament settings.

I tried using bambu pla matte and it seems to work fine, have printed some silica baskets that looks fine

Glad you got workable solutions before I had a chance to see this.
But yes, if you download the preset .zip file you can extract the files and use something like notepad++ to read the contents.

Did anyone happen to get a working P2S profile for Panchroma matte? My second layer does not stick.

In case anyone didn’t stumble across this yet, they did finally release profiles on the polyterra github. I can’t make links but if you google “polymaker 3d profile imports github” you’ll get a wiki article with the link. They have the p2s there now.

Once you download for the p2s, you can do file → import to get everything you need. Printing along flawlessly.

Only Bambu has the newer printers

Indeed; i just found that too. Great news but not for 0.2mm nozzles sadly.

Too bad the whole profile is unavailable just because there isn’t a nozzle variation. That should be possible to calculate and the slicer could mention that as a “we take no responsibility” message..

It’s been a while so I don’t remeber all the steps I did (for a P1S, Windows) but I did at one time install some custom filament profiles for a different manufacturer and then just copy and rename the appropriate nozzle and settings files and change the nozzle size inside the file and for me it worked fine and they showed up fine in studio. Could be I was just lucky. Just never delete, edit or rename working files (unless the new file will end up with the same name, then change the file extention), use copies and backup originals to a different location.
