Go for it. user_3438273537 that is really bad! What kind of filament are you using. I don’t think anyone thinks the stock nozzle wiper is very good but that is beyond bad.
There are a ton of nozzle wiper mods on Maker World and my general view is that if your user base is creating a bunch of designs around a certain part of a machine, that’s like a message on the existing design.
Mine, I took the Wiper V2, imported it into OpenSCAD and removed what I felt wasn’t really needed and made an stl file of what remained.
The silicone wiper is from the Model A and the screw was because the nozzle would peel up the wiper using just the adhesive backing.
ha, printing the better wiper the exact thing happened to me too lol. Poop stayed attached to the nozzle, and when homing it got all squished into the nozzle. Stopped the print but I’m away, when I come home I’ll have some cleaning to do
I was using Flashforge Metallic PETG found here:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7VWH8QK
Granted metallic PETG is a bit of an ask, but i figured that the p1s could handle it. I also actually forgot that i saved the print in the middle because the chute flapper must have had an issue and it allowed a ton of buildup to accrue in the chute. it almost reached the nozzle, and 1 hotend encasement(on a creality cr6se) was enough for me. I’m gonna try and stick to voxel and overture for a bit and try that wiper hope it runs smoother.
Luckily, all’s well that end’s well, and the mushroom shelf for my wife was a hit as far as she is concerned(yes, there is a layer shift).
I have gotten some super good prints using Bambu PLA Metal. My bad PLA Silk but I’ve used the metal with no problems at all
Making Christmas ornaments
aw unfortunately the nozzle doesn’t go far enough to the right. I’ll try the wiper you use too, as the one I printed doesn’t really work lol
I pulled mine off to look at it when I started getting front cover fell faults.
Was not the cause but I definitely need to replace the rubber nubs so bought some a few days ago.
I bought a Diamondback hotend and installed it. That stock cleaner doesn’t clean the Diamondback AT ALL so I’ve been having to grab first purge off of plate each and every print.
That nozzle cleaner I tweaked goes back on today.
Definitely related to the Diamondback.
