I have Sunlu E2 which goes up to 110*C. What are my best options for properly drying engineering filaments like PPA or PPS? Kitchen oven? Sunlu E2 or something else? What is the filament usable on h2d that needs highest drying temperature? I am a bbuy once, cry once type a guy. What is my endgame o…

How do you feel about vacuum drying filament?

One of the fastest methods. Pretty energy efficient too. Sometimes. Its extremely effective and I keep meaning to try it out as I’ve got a freeze dryer at home so I could, in theory, preheat the spool then toss it in there and pull it to a nearly hard vacuum. [image] krellboy: How do you feel …

[image] user_912036769: I already have sunlu E2, which goes to 110C, Print bed going to 20 probably won’t get filament up to 110. I was smart enough to have never purchased a wife, hence kitchen oven is accessible, but unlike Sunlu E2 it does not vent. Never use a kitchen oven–unless you neve…

At $5400 for OV4-30, STS i can just buy a good quality electric kiln for like $3200…

After 12 hr in sunlu e2 i ssee 0 weight change, went from 1054 to 1055 grams, i am not saying it gained a gram, guessing round-off error, but definitely did not loose any weight. Trying vacuum chamber next.

Ah, I see that, but my point still stands. I bought a small blast oven on eBay for under $200 awhile back. Look around. You should be able to find something.

An airfryer should also work great for higher temperatures. Ours keeps temperature stable within ±3°C. It also slowly releases the moist air outside. And the high airflow certainly is helpful too. Only adding desiccant might be less efficient due to the constant exchange of air.

So are you saying that you don’t think it was dry, or that you tried printing with it and still had what appeared to be moisture related issues, or are you just looking for a faster way to get to no weight change? Edit: ok, just went back and saw your 20 hr drying post. What is the humidity like wh…

Humidity 50%, i am in florida. I tried the moisture test, the one with 2 triangular poles and it was a spiky mess, but then i printed a benchy and it looks normal, no issues at all.

I don’t get it… weight of the spool, after drying all night did not reduce at all, but it now prints well, benchy, volumetric flow rate up to 20mm3/s all good.

Just an FYI. Another thread that talked about PPA-CF (you probably already saw it, but just in case). Might have some info useful to you.
