Price Adjustment Alert!

I havent seen the coupon ,so i couldnt say but id assume a goodwill gesture for some customers who fall within a certain time frame ,

Chinese companies? US tariffs are paid in the US when the products are accepted by the importer at US ports. The US isn’t receiving money from China for these tariffs.

Sure, there are Chinese companies, like Bambulab, with operations in the US paying these tariffs, but American companies pay them too.

Mine ships from dudley port , having first being flown in somewhere down south
unless you expect the local courier to of picked it up from ?
its kinda like i know how to use tracking

Yes and bambu was the importer. A chinese company. The company we are talking about here.

I wouldn’t assume anything to be honest. All I know, as a consumer of Chinese goods. And as I stated, many of the things I do on my “personal” time are shipped directly from China. You want my personal take after doing a bit more digging: they gouged somewhat in “rushing” to change their prices.

In particular since Dr Chow mentioned radio controlled items(RC), on his interview with Stefan, the planes that I buy are from a particular company that drop ships from China.

The models that I have are in and out of stock, as the industry has transitioned to larger, or bind and fly models. I have both, but the kits run, at a start about 1500 USD and go up from there. The company let’s you know when they’re out of stock, or when they ship a container of kits from China. No assumptions needed. The timeframe in shipment is not 2 weeks to a month, more like 2 to 4 months. They let us(the customer base) know when they arrive, left customs, are on their way to the warehouse, arrive, etc. This is just one example, and not isolated. None of these companies(or industries, as that is their “business” also) changed a single price. These (in particular the airplane vendor)companies have been in business, doing the same thing, well over 10 years (some, much longer, and some newer, when it comes to the helicopters). They communicate “before” doing anything… And that’s why I, and others pay what we pay, and stay repeat customers. Now I’m not saying Bambu should do that, they run their business how they want. I am just saying it’s odd.

You have allot of “potential and possible” reasons they did what they did, but there are just as many compelling (actually more) reasons to not “jump the gun”. I work in the auto industry, and many have taken a wait and see approach. Why: because they’ve been in business long enough to know to wait and see, and offset “later”. What put a spot taste in my mouth (and my wife’s), is “because” I deal so much with Chinese items… Hell man, my phone is a Chinese device, and I have been using the Chinese devices for quite a few years(I’m into folding phones). I like the tech, so that’s where I am. But, and I love my Bambu printers, they were jumpy… Extremely jumpy for what, a couple weeks to a month of a jostling back and forth of an “unsustainable potential cost”. There was no way, no way, that this was ever going to last! Our reliance on China is too high, whereas China on us, simply is not. Refitting factories, lines and industries, isn’t done overnight, or even a month, more like 6 months to a year, and then programming bugs have to be worked out over time. The point is, they were froggy with increasing prices… All it’s done is one of two things: annoyed customers like myself, who deal with “overseas” goods all the time, and/or, stagnated their sales… Just because a mess is brewing outside my door, does not mean I bring that same mess into my house where I eat and lay my head… Me, I think more in terms of the long game…

I could send it back, but there’s not a single thing wrong with it. And I stick by my purchases.I haven’t received my HT yet, and I’ve seen nothing of a price adjustment(and it hasn’t shipped, which is fine. I think they should give us credit for the combos, or at least give us the components to make up the cutters or lasers, simply as a good faith offering. That’s what I would do, were I running the company. But whatever, at the same time. I bought mine, it works, and I’m not going through the pain of boxing up, and shipping back anything for 5-600 dollars… That’s where my budget with my “toys” lay. But… It’s one of my first dealings with Bambu on a “decent priced item”, and I truly wanted Microcenterto get some in, but they didn’t, so, it is what it is…

You said “Chinese companies” not just Bambulab or “a Chinese company.” That implied, to me, that you think they US government would specifically not refund tariff money, if they were, to just Chinese companies.

It’s a very messy topic to be honest. Very, very messy, and really, I “do” see both sides. I just wish they would have handled it differently… And of course, I take party of the blame, because “I should have waited”… Ultimately, while I’m “bitching”, the latter is “where my actions” are…

But me, all I would do is spend whatever credit they gave me, right back in/with them. One hand washes the other, and I can find a ton of ways to spend 600.00 on Bambu items…

But again, not my call…

You can say they jumped the gun, but there are companies that have shown they paid 145% tariffs at the port of entry on items received in the last 2 weeks. I guess if you want to believe so badly that Bambulab paid no 145% tariffs in the time since April 9th and when they were changed to 30%, then I’ll let you believe it if that makes you feel better.

And if you are talking about getting items shipped directly to you from China, that’s a whole different story, as the De Minimis exception wasn’t stopped with China until May 2nd. If something is shipped directly to you now, YOU are the importer and you will have to pay the import charge yourself.

As I said(and you seem to not understand), it’s a very, very messy topic. Really!

And the other companies that I’ve purchased items from in this past month, they were the importers… And as such, I suppose they “did” pay the tariff fees. But, with them doing that, I am sure, down the line and I’m done way, they will be able to write it off, as a cost of business. Really, that’s what I’m doing in my mind. That’s what they’ve done for years(some of them decades), but so be it. As I said, to me, I have paid my price to entry. And that is my choice. I just think there is and was(still is) another way.

I guess my thing is timing. It wasn’t long enough of a duration, from what I’m accustomed to. Bambu is the only one of the thousands I’ve spent over the past month(and I’ve spent a considerable amount, as it’s the start of flying season, which is building season for me), that passed it on(even the 30% it so)… And really, it “is” fine TBH. As I said, cost of business: they were the only one, so it’s sort of a tax from the others that I didn’t have to pay… Which would have been a ton more, if I did… Even from one or two vendors…

Every company is going to handle their company “their way”… Would it be “nice”, if they emailed and said “hey, were giving you all a couple hundred in store credit for this mess”, of course it would! But a requirement, nope… Again, cost of business, and honestly, just talking… It’s a forum after all…

I’m actually more concerned about getting an update to allow me to print while drying, than the couple hundred that I’ve “already spent”…

Thank you @smcallah!

This was the information I needed. I just applied for my credit so hopefully it goes thru. Received y combo on 5/4/25 and my 2nd AMS is currently in transit.

Hello, as of today May 16th, the website still showing less than of $86 will get charged additional shipping due to tarrifs. Will this go away as well? Thanks

Every item I get from China, through eBay, is air freight. I don’t know how they can ship it for $3. We shipped a mug to France by air through ebay, for $8, it went to the midwest to be loaded on the plane.
Companies get special rates, like Bambu, their not going to wait 1-2 months for it to get here.
Our grandson flies a 747 for Atlas, you wouldn’t believe what you can get on a 747

This is welcomed for sure! Any plans of building a US-based facility? It would for sure be a major step forward! Other companies are going to Texas. Should be a nice move!

How do we apply for the refund?

Betting they’re going to give you a coupon code you can apply on your next order.

Nobody knows how to apply for it? Is it hidden from the customer? Or did they email every buyer?

I followed smcallah’s link in his post above and made my request:

Thank you. I totally missed the link

This is easily one of the worst takes you could’ve had and comes off extremely entitled.

They didn’t have to reduce prices at all and instead of being marginally happy, you choose to be upset that it wasn’t on your personal timeline.

I defended them until they started refunding money via gift card. Your take makes you look foolish and new. Instead of being smart, you choose to be you.

Yes, people should feel entitled to extra money they paid for a tariff that wasnt charged. Bambu seems to agree. Hence the gift cards.

Sorry, trying to match your energy and personal attacks. Looks like every post youve made is exactly like this one. We get it.
