since i dont have the support material for PETG i decided to use Bambulabs guide to combine PETG and PLA in one print, even though i used the exact same guide (i downloaded the modified g code they provided on the page) my layers are seperating on the same height as the one where the PLA support raft interface and above, i can seperate them with just my fingers.
what can i do to fix this?
Increase your purge. You are getting contamination from the previous filament.
is there a rule of thumb by how much i should increase it?
Increase till there isn’t an issue?
Try doubling what you have and go from there.
i will try and update
thank you
so update
i tried the highest flushing volume and it still snapped at one point
it has gotten better but its still weak on one spot
what else could it be?
Can you upload your .3mf file and some pictures of there the weak point is?
pla_basic_支撑_petg_basic@p2s.3mf (25,7 KB)
SupportTest.3mf (699,4 KB)
i used Bambulabs settings and tried a simple support test, it breaks directly on the layer where the PLA got printed
make sure the purge is set for cases (pla->petg) and (petg->pla). I am unable to load the 3mf at hte moment.
I loaded the 3mf, and these are the saved purge values:
You’re not yet at the highest flushing. Increase to literal maximum, 900.
edit: a note, a strong 90 degree angle on the Z layer boundary is going to be weak no matter what, so make sure you are tempering your expectations about what “its still weak on one spot” means to you with this specific test model. It shouldn’t come apart on its own or from finger pressure; but its gonna snap from hand pressure
i did do the full flushing volume, i just forgot to save it before
and i also decreased the max Volumetric speed and increased the Brim width so it it is 100% sure no contamination is there
i need to do a few more tests on some parts
