they already said they would punish report abusers i go through each one and make sure they are irrelevant before i report, the ones above are all violators
@MakerWorld do you guys have a tracking record for users who use the report tool for accuracy?
This can lead to abuse. Someone can set up two accounts, one to upload irrelevant models and the other to report them to get points.
How about we let MW decide if anyone is abusing the reporting tool and how to handle these people? It’s MW moderators who have to review the reported models, not us desingers
Just because someone reports a model doesn’t mean MW will blindly remove it. Designers don’t even need to know if someone has reported their model, let alone need to take any action.
yep this is the answer they have to go through to judge the contests so it has to be frustraing for them also to filter through all the irrelevant entries…
Great minds think alike. This is the solution I proposed:
Well, unless I don’t understand it correctly, that will make things more complicated to implement Plus, either #3 or 4 can be used to game points by one user using two accounts, just like I said above.
Let people report in good faith, or not and let MW handle it.
To remove your entry from the contest and keep your historically earned points, switch your model from Public to Private. It will no longer show up in the contest or anywhere in the searchable database but you will keep your points.
Thanks but that would keep the model no longer public and available to download during the contest period. Since it had only a few downloads, i deleted the model and reuploaded. But thanks anyway
Hueforge is cool but I think they should not let any hueforge in any of the contests. Every if the picture matches the contest theme. They are 3d modeling contest not picture coloring contests.
truth its filled with the #yawnforge #2dprints
i’m interested too
make that 319
Interestingly enough i haven’t gotten confirmation from Profile reports in a few days, neither positive nor negative. (Though they will be positive as it’s clearly credit manipulation that was reported)
Got to ask, how much time is being directed at physical support errors, over digital support things? Maybe it was not the wisest idea to try and make an online market that you knew would be slammed with dishonest people uploading others’ work in order to get a payday / point / freebies.
Some of us have machines literally falling apart and cannot get answers or replacements.
dont abuse your machine, i have had my p1p since launch and nothing falling apart… this is not a customer service thread you need to open a ticket to get help and follow up on it…
Abuse my machine by asking that it print and not have injection molded parts fall off and bearings disassemble themselves?
To add insult to injury, I got my reply blocked by admins as “off topic” because I speculated that they might have too many people on the software side of things, instead of handling un-answered hardware support requests. It took 2 weeks to get a reply to a case.
The same punishment, ie. 50-points deduction and 3-strike ban, should also be applied to uploads without real photo of printed model.
If the broken windows theory holds true, having rule violations on contest pages is like showcasing broken windows on the main attractions. It will encourage more rule breaking elsewhere on MW.
It got blocked by community flags, and restored by admins.
Some people have their feelings hurt by honest questions about a company that is currently ignoring hardware service requests, while simultaneously having to add moderation for yet another model repository, with yet another game / points system.
You have proof that they are “ignoring” request? I would love to see that.
