Question About Multi-Plate Printing on X1C

Question About Multi-Plate Printing on X1C

Hello,

I’m new to 3D printing and recently got my first printer, an X1C. I’m unsure if I’m misunderstanding the process or if it’s not functioning as I expected.

When I have multiple plates to print, is there no way to continue printing the next plate directly from the printer’s display with a “continue” option? Instead, it seems I have to go back to the slicer and manually select and start the next plate.

To clarify, I have used the “Print All” option in the slicer, but after printing the first plate and clearing it, I can’t find an option to begin the next plate from the printer without returning to the slicer.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

As far as im aware non of bambu labs printers have process to clear and clean a plates automatically , although there is a couple of people developing multi plate printing ideas for the A1 A1 Mini

I don’t think the OP is looking to clear the plate automatically.

If you use the “Print All”, I seem to remember when prompted on the display that the print has finished, if you select “print again” it will print the next plate in the series.

I have not tried this recently to see if this is still how it works.

I am manually clearing the plate, but I see no option to continue on and print the next plate, so that makes me question what the “Print All” option in the slicer actually does.

but it would be needed (25 charac)

I will try this, I assumed this meant the same print so had not selected it. thank you

It does if you send only one plate. If you send more it “should” print the next one. I will admit this is not very clear.

That is very cool, problematic for the X1C with its enclosure but I like it.

I`d have to check, but as far as im aware the sdcard only saves the last plate printed as basic geometry in a multi plate print, which would also prevent auto multi plate printing Even though the slicer can slice all , it doesnt allow multi plates to be uploaded and queued

I can confirm the “Print Again” button will allow you to print the next plate when you use “Print All”.

Here was my work flow.

  • Use “Print All” to send a multi plate print.
  • This starts the first plate.
  • Once this print finishes, clear the bed, select “Print Again”.
  • This brings up the print selection box with a picture of the item on the first plate.
  • This is the key point, next to the image of the first plate, there is a side arrow button, press that and it will show and image of the next plate. Start the print as you normally would.

Is that from the 3mf saved on the sdcard or through the slicer ?

Transfer from the slicer to the onboard memory of the X1C. The OP hasn’t mentioned anything about using an SD card.

Its why i asked (25 char)

Thank you very much! This will make things much easier since I decided to place the printer in my shop which is a separate building from my office where I attempt to model and slice from.

To be clear, this process allows you to select the next plate from the display of the X1C, you do not have to use the slicer to select the next plate.

Yes i understand it just saves the pre sliced file , id assume you`d get a similar result saving to a card ? what i didnt realise was you can send it from the slicer to the x1 directly , rather than manually save it from a folder to card or memory
