RANT: BL failed to deliver my order and want evidence

We left because we were in a controlling and manipulated relationship. Post-divorce, the vitriol hasn’t stopped.

They have U.K. base.

In the U.K., that responsibility only transfers to the customer once the delivery has been made to the customer, not when it isn’t made at all or to someone other than the customer.

In the U.K. you can’t be charged for any delivery fees if the issue wasn’t your fault.

We also have 14 days from the time the delivery was made to decide if we wish to keep the items (any method of sale except person to person) if not, you get a full refund minus one direction of shipping at the standard rate. (Not from theirs originally and then back to theirs).

Don’t really want to go into any arguments about Brexit, and far from me to dispute your co-nationals choice to step out. However, allow me to point out that the UK was the only Member State in the EU that had more “opt-outs” and exceptions than any other, when it came to adopting or transposing the EU’s “acquis communautaire” , or EU directives and regulations. But then again, I fully respect your right to chose what and how you want to be governed and live your lives, even if, personally, I felt really disappointed by your choice.

Who is responsible if a parcel is stolen?

This could be a retailer or delivery firm. If you were asked to select a “safe place” for the courier to leave the parcel and it was stolen, then it’s your responsibility. However, it’s the courier’s fault if it was stolen and you did not nominate a “safe place”
name and address? i can only assume the courier asked

If your parcel is stolen, it’s important to report the theft to the police. However, the police may require evidence of the theft to pursue an investigation.

I like how amazon does it. If you order a laptop, you have to provide the courier with the correct one-time 6 digit password for them to complete the delivery. No OTP, no delivery. It’s perfectly simple. It’s better than pictures or signatures or he-said-she-said or all that stuff.

You saw I used a smiley face, right?

I chose the Crazy Face one for a reason. The whole thing is crazy.

I wasn’t aware I could nominate one until after the package was delivered.

If I had nominated one, it wouldn’t have been a house up the street, it would have been the one physically attached to mine. For all the Americans out there, in the U.K., we have semi-detached houses, that share a single wall. My house is well over 130 years old. 1890 or something like that, before we let women vote and weirdly, most men as the majority still couldn’t. Democracy is king, for the rich and already powerful.

Agreed, many high-value (doesn’t mean expensive) items require this, it works a treat, isn’t inconvenient, is disabled accessible and means they need to wait for a human to receive the package.

DPD throws stuff out the window (hyperbole) like an American teenager delivering the newspaper (for the younger audience, that was trees with ink on that said stuff about yesterday)

Just for the record. The US has them too and their called duplexes. One can go to many of the five boroughs that make up NYC and find some that are also over 130 years old.

Hey wait a minute!!! I take exception to that characterization… when I was youth delivery papers in NYC, I always hit the stoop while never slowing down on my bicycle… it was simple matter of professional pride. :tophat::grin:

I know, I was playing into the common troupe. That said, most states have very strict rules about what they term; 'multi-occupancy plots", often outlawing them entirely or adding rules that make it harder including the requirement of minimum plot sizes for each home.

You were the exception then. I wasn’t as good, this was my experience.

Of course they have a registered presence in the UK. Unfortunately it is a behind-the-scenes accommodation service providing an office address and telephone answering services. It also serves as the address for service of legal documents so at least there is that.

Oh I noticed I just don’t care. As I stated before nobody purchasing something entered into a contract with a delivery firm or courier. I’m not going to argue this point - you handle your affairs how you choose.

Correct. I wouldn’t have chosen DPD if I was responsible for delivery.

Europeans laugh derisively over any mention of the age of things in the USA.
130 year old duplexes? Pah! I’ve stayed in a hotel 5x that old.

Buildings from almost 600 years ago (and even much older) do indeed exist in the EU. However, i have doubts that they had any functional hotels in those times, especially hotels that have survived that long and still kept their functioning license.

I’m so horrified that Bambu so far in two instances seem to be pretty insistent that it’s not their problem when something goes missing. Hopefully your stuff will show up…? :grimacing:

Reminds me of the time I used to have to special order baby formula. I made the mistake of getting it from a place that used FedEx, and instead of leaving it on my porch, the driver threw the case at the end of the driveway, and then backed over it upon leaving, destroying half of it and covering the street with formula. The rage I felt as a sleep-deprived mom, oof. I still will do most anything to avoid FedEx. The company was very sympathetic and sent me a free case. Bambu needs to step up.

I’m in the same boat across the pond. I never got my package but it was delivered somewhere so I reported it to USPS and they said you have to be the shipper to file an insurance claim.

I told Bambu and they sent back a picture of the tracking history and a circle around delivered. I can only take this to mean Bambu thinks their customers are intelligent enough to manage 3D printing but not intelligent enough to use a tracking number.

I can’t believe how unsupportive they are to the things they’re responsible for. It’s the postal services fault I never got it, but it’s Bambu’s responsibility because I didn’t ship it.

Good luck.

Warning, long rant ...

I can deal with companies refusing to use a WORKING shipping service…
And I understand that Australia is a few decades behind when it comes to consumer rights and protection.
What I can not deal with and simply can’t accept is if this handling that just ends fully once Bambu made a sale.

My claimed 6 month access to reduced filament prices after buying the P1S only worked for the first order, the one I placed with the machine.
After that is was the general offers listed on the shop pages.
Contacting the support also seems to be a hit and miss thing.

I am still waiting for a reply in regards to how exactly I am now supposed to get my delivery.
In all fairness though: The crappy delivery company did contact me, claiming they found my live chat attempt and that no one reacted to it.
Wasn’t helping because all they wanted was my home address to get rid of this delivery.
When I asked if they would cover the loss if the delivery disappears before I get home they refused.
When I asked if they have other options than their far away depots they told me that I have a pharmacy in town taking drop off’s for customers.
Up to a weight of 5kg per item, my box is over 13kg LOL

From Bambu all I got so far was one Email making me rather angry and no solution, not even an attempt.
The thing that makes me so angry is the combination of ignorance and incompetence on Bambu’s end.
They Emailed me stating their delivery service won’t take P.O. boxes, I rectified this but despite KNOWING that Team Global Express is not allowed by AU Post to use their services Bambu went with them anyway.
Only to dump all further problems onto me and making clear they have no real interest to find a solution.

As some people from outside AU might wonder about all this nonsense:
When our postal service was privatised to allow other companies hitting the market AU Post was their choice for the last mile of all small parcels.
Picking things up from the sender, handing it over to some AU Post depot is small enough and everyone was happy - except AU Post.
This quickly went out of hand thanks to fake online sellers pretending to be AU based while in fact shipping directly from overseas, mainly China.
They got their assigned AU Post tracking number, the money and ease of use while AU Post had to deal with deliveries requiring a singed confirmation.
The solution was to ban all underperforming shipping services unwilling or unable to stick to AU Post rules and guidelines.
The same happened less than year after shipping companies abusing news agents and pharmacies as drop off locations.
And who could blame them if there is more customers with complaints, wrong items or getting a collection notices for things never dropped off and from there being lost…

Bambu went the same route as other internally operating companies did to save on shipping costs and responsibility.
Getting a suitable warehouse to take bulk deliveries from their manufacturing sites.
Then using the cheapest available shipping service, even if the feedback rating is in the negatives.
And they all place customer satisfaction as high as possible.
Meaning that even a complete P1S including AMS and about 15kg of filament just get dropped in your driveway with no need for a signature.
And the confirmation the customer got what they paid for is done by the courier doing a quick click and taking a picture of the items sitting out in the open.
For some reason they all agree it is best to deliver things rather than making sure the customer actually gets the stuff handed over.
The worst part is the nonsense of being required to provide your phone number - to fix delivery issues if they might arise.
No driver ever dares to call you in order to check if you might have missed the bell because you are in the backyard doing some gardening…
They won’t leave a card either and the Email that they missed you arrives the day after.

I checked the bulk offers our dirt cheap and incompetent delivery services offer against AU Post and reputable shipping companies like Toll Ipec, UPS, Couriers Please and so on.
Taking an average sized box with an average weight of 5kg the difference between the cheapest provider an AU Post if $3AU…
Using the luxury UPS the difference is between $5 an $8 depending on volumes and actual dimensions of the parcel.
And while don’t know about you, I rather would have the option to KNOW which shipping service is the default and if in doubt pay the 5 bucks extra in order to get a working shipping service.
Just saying…

That would be the day…

It’s not down to you to prove you didn’t receive it, it’s down to Bambu to prove you have. Quite simple really, and if they don’t agree then log a complaint with your credit card company and have them refund you. I wouldn’t even entertain there questions, as clearly they do not understand. Wait 14 days (credit card company need this before they can proceed), Let the credit card company go after them, I can guarantee they will never get a reply from them, but that’s not your issue as they will simply credit you back the money.
Oh, you need to of paid by credit card for this to apply of course and be in the UK, no idea how other countries deal with this type of issue.
Hope you get it sorted though.

I don’t have experience with how USPS works on processing undelivered items. But here’s my experience with Fedex.

A Bambu Lab (BL) printer part delivered by Fedex was marked as delivered, but I didnt get it. I waited a couple of days as a recommended practice because sometimes the item may be marked as delivered but only actually delivered the next days.

After that I contacted Fedex and they opened an investigation (or maybe another term that they use, it was a long while ago:). I got a text message each day for the next few days (or maybe a whole week) informing me that they were still looking for my item, and if I got it anytime during their investigation, please inform them. Then a final text came informing me that they had unable to locate my item, and that I should contact the sender to file an insurance claim.

I contacted BL via a ticket and they told me they would start an investigation (or maybe another term) with Fedex. I informed BL that Fedex had started their investigation and concluded that the item could not be located. I also asked if BL could use USPS when sending out the replacement because my local Fedex delivery had been problematic for years.

BL sent out the missing item the next day, and via USPS. I got it about a week later.

Yes, instead of getting the item in about a week as usual, I got it in 3 weeeks. And I had to contact Fedex and Bambu Lab so that’s extra work that I shouldn’t have to do. But do I blame BL for the messup? No. Do I have to do this everytime I order something from BL? No.
