P1S from November 2023. I pulled a clogged hotend to replace with the spare. When I pulled the hotend out the electrical connectors did not want to come out. Now I have the following problems:
The electrical connectors are weird. I am not sure when they are seated and when they are not.
The connector for the cover fan won’t stay set in the outlet on the electrical board. It just wants to fall out.
When I try to set the speed of the part fan, it just shuts back off.
The bed won’t heat up.
OK, that is where I am at. How can I check the electrical state of the heater pad? Or should I just find a new one? What about the thermister?
Should I replace the TH board? The one in the accessories section of the website doesn’t really look like the one I have but hard to tell.
Yes, the Bambu documentation is good. But, I as asking for tips about the connectors and how to make sure they are connected, the connectors not staying connected to the Tool Head board, the part fan turning off after turning it on, and the bed not heating.
The part cooling fan plug can look and feel seated but not actually connected properly. The plugs and connectors are small. I need to wear magnifying glasses to see them properly (but my eyes are bad }.
I find the best way to fit the plugs is to first move the gantry forward and to the left of centre (looking from the front), so you can access the toolhead through the front door.
Also note that sometimes you have to cycle the power to get the fan control to work from the screen.
The first thing I would try is a factory reset and calibration before changing components.
Thank you. I looked at the heat pad/thermistor connectors and there is something funky looking there so I’m going to order new. The fan from the front cover looks the same so new parts are coming. I don’t understand why they use these types of connectors since there are other options that are easier to work with and don’t take up any more space for the connectors on the circuit board. (see the x1c) Oh well. I will try the magnifying glasses, thanks for that tip.
I guess if one can’t afford to fix (user created problems) on a $700 machine, we shouldn’t buy a $700 machine .
The problem I had was the wires coming out the bottom of the connector interfering with the connector below. I guess i am used to the dupont connectors. Anyway, thanks again.
