"Report Issue"

I’m new to this stuff and only had the printer for a month or so.

I was trying to report an issue in bambu studio. I clicked the down arrow next to file then help and finally “Report Issue”.

This then took me to GitHub and wanted me to sign up.

Is this normal? I don’t have a GitHub account.

BTW the issue was that Generic PLA Silk seems to have disapeared from the filament options under the prepare tab.

The developers will see Issues and Feature Requests on Github. I’ve been able to get a couple of minor issues corrected by submitting issues there. The developers pay little or no attention to this forum.

As to your issue, click the settings “gear” for Filament:

Then verify that all three of these boxes are checked:

there is also this thread if you dont want or need to sign upto github

It shows in the filament settings window but not the list to select the filament under the prepare tab.

Thank you.
I’ll post on the bug reporting thread.

It seems to disappear once you select a 0.2 nozzle. It is still listed with a 0.4 or 0.6 nozzle. Same for different sized nozzles for my X1C. You can select Generic Silk PLA with 0.4 or 0.6 nozzle, but as soon as you change to a 0.2 nozzle the filament changes to Bambu Silk PLA and the Generic Silk PLA preset disappears.

Thank you. I missed that I had selected 0.2mm nozzle.

I consider myself an expert in printing as I have been doing this for 10 plus years and own 7 Bambu labs machines including the new H2D Just giving a little context to validate my experience.
I have an issue with the new Bambu Studio Software.
Randomly when I open a saved print the software will duplicate an exact copy of the part on top of an existing part I try to slice it and it looks normal until I send it over to the machine to print then the Chaos unfolds. the machine tries to print both parts in the same space and it gets an excess amount of material build up. It is so bad that the part looks terrible and I must scrap the part.
This is a daily annoyance as I run my machines every day I am losing money over scrapped parts.
I should not have to check your software each time.
I have seen others having the same issues ever since the new update to the software that included the H2D.
Please fix this!

Well my friend, you might be an expert at 3D printing, but clearly not when it comes to forums and online communities. Think of this place more like your local pub — a bunch of regulars swapping stories, venting about the chaos, and occasionally laughing so we don’t cry. And oh yeah… you’ll find we support each other because Bambu Lab isn’t going to. :man_shrugging:

Marching in here, responding to a random post that seemed like a good place to vent, and shouting at the mayor is a bold move… but the mayor isn’t here, never was, and honestly wouldn’t buy you a beer even if he was.

Bambu’s not listening, doesn’t give two shits about your complaint even if they did read it, and you’re not going to get an official fix by posting here — just a lot of nodding heads and shared misery.

If you want to give it a shot, try posting here instead:

Welcome to the club!

Not sure what part of my statement Instigated your distain to my post but i have a legitimate problem and have in no way shape or form intended to rant.
But whatever!

@Olias pointed out helpful information.

He and I also enjoy a good rant, so, don’t worry about that part.

I think you missed the important things he shared.

This is a forum, it is nit actively monitored by staff of Bambu Support, you create a ticket for that if you are seeking direct help.

If you wish to share your concerns and point out a distinct problem, you can do that, just not the way you did.

This thread isn’t about problems, that is just the caption the OP chose.

You should create your own post and carefully select the categories it is linked to.

I recommend software and bug respectively.

If it is a rant (think shouting into the wind) add a prefix rant (I do this).

If you are seeking help from the community, detail your needs and note you seek help.

If you wish to have a staff member potentially review it as a bug (remember, support staff do not hang out here), the categories you choose may mean if they do, they focus on bus and feature requests.

If you have provided a detailed example of how to reproduce your issue and ideally included screenshots and photos to help explain the problem, you have a better chance.

The more well rounded it is, might have others join in and their additional information makes it more likely of something happening.

I consider myself a hunk, opinions vary.

I have 35 commercial years of software design in everything from mobile to web to desktop to millions of installations to one off custom solutions.

I point this out as it has no bearing whatsoever on any problem I have with software as it is unrelated.

Your experience is equally unrelated to your problem.

Start with the facts in your own post and end with facts.

In fairness, shortly after the initial report here @frankmitchell4741 reported the issue on Github where the issue is most likely to receive effective attention.
