Similar issues for me…
I am new to BL, and recently coming off the Nvidia RTX 5090 new release madness, where everything sells out in a few minutes, at 1am Australian time I placed my order, and rushed as I didn’t know whether I’d be successful with this new release (my past experience says if it’s in your cart it’s not guaranteed you will be able to purchase it, until you actually pay).
So this means I didn’t have time to look through all of the accessories, worse still, I really wanted extra 0.6 and 0.8 nozzles buy only saw they had 0.2 so grabbed one. Of course in the morning, I discovered that the 0.2 nozzle description was also a dropdown, and the other items were selectable in the dropdown. As someone with a lot of experience in UI, and new to BL - that was a bad/unfamiliar UI design that needs improving (yes there’s a little “v” next to the description I noticed the next day, but it’s not a standard pattern to use the description as a dropdown - the words “select your option” would have been useful). This pattern was made worse because they have high flow nozzles, then the normal nozzles, suggesting that is the list of available items.
I also called support once I got up the following morning, but it was too late - the shipping was in progress.
This isn’t a great first experience for me, as effectively due to technicalities on their end, and a poor user experience, I’m left feeling like I just dealt with the standard heartless corporate. What UI improvements should they make, well burying the different nozzle options may seem efficient, but it’s not obvious. Additionally, a message making it clear these discounts will only apply at original purchase and no future option will be available (makes the rules clear to me). Lastly, make it clear what the rules are when you have a pumped up new release, with a limited stock item e.g. tell uses if they have an item in their cart it will not be removed as long as they’re actively shopping - or what ever the rules are.
This is also a lost opportunity for BL, because I already have a lot of filament, so the option of trying their was appealing at a 40% discount. However, I will now simply use the filament I have and tune the profiles appropriately, and once they’re dialled in, I have no reason to change what I’ve always purchased.
