Retroactive 20% discount on accessories

Can anyone from Bambu Lab explain why they do not give the discount on accessories before the order ships?

I’ve just a a pointless conversation with support where they said they cannot edit the order I placed for their flagship 40W laser product to get the discount on accessories.

In the 2 hours since launch a number of accessories have popped up live as add-ons with a discount that were not there at launch time.

So you mean to tell me that those of us who are diehard fans don’t get a discount on accessories after the fact and we’re ounished for ordering at launch time?

Seems a bad way to treat those of us who ordered when the window opened.

Anyone else have this issue?

The choice is to cancel my current order and try again on April 8 when the next preorder window opens and lose any accessory discounts. Doesn’t make sense…

Customer service said I needed to cancel my order and redo it. I actually cancelled my order because I decided I didn’t need the laser at this time. My shipment got scheduled to April 4th. Oh well.

I perfectly agree with you

I agree, I also notice more items appearing later like the green glasses - out of no where

Realistically, who is buying H2D accessories during launch day? People who bought the H2D.

Any of you early birds get have any luck asking support for a retroactive refund?

Submitted a ticket, still waiting on response.

Bambu told me no, even though some items werent available at release

"Hello Jessie,

Thank you for reaching out to Bambu Lab. This is Anthony from Bambu lab customer support team.

I appreciate your sincere support and understand that you want to get the discount code back. Unfortunately, I am sorry to tell you that we can’t provide the additional discount for the accessories once the order is placed.

Thanks for your kind understanding and support. Have a good day to you.

I will set this ticket as resolved if you don’t have other questions. You will also receive a satisfaction survey questionnaire. We attach great importance to user feedback and look forward to your comments and valuable suggestions on our services.

If you need any help later, you can create a new ticket at any time and we will get back to you as soon as possible."

Anybody remember hearing that prusa sent partial refunds to people because they were able to save on shipping costs? So they gave the money back to the customers.

They told me no as well. I canceled my order for the laser H2D and repurchased the combo without the laser. I lost a week in delivery time but saved a ton on the accessories I ordered. I stcked up on ABS etc and hotends. The HF hotend was OOS by the time I reordered but I figure it’ll come back before I receive my printer.

It is extremely frustrating that they do not have a mechanism for this eventuality. How hard is it to send a coupon after the fact?

They are great at a lot of things, but customer service is not one of them.

Personally I am a new customer of Bambulab. This is my first purchase from the site. If they do not honor the discount, it will absolutely impact my opinion of them for future material and accessory purchases.

Similar issues for me…

I am new to BL, and recently coming off the Nvidia RTX 5090 new release madness, where everything sells out in a few minutes, at 1am Australian time I placed my order, and rushed as I didn’t know whether I’d be successful with this new release (my past experience says if it’s in your cart it’s not guaranteed you will be able to purchase it, until you actually pay).

So this means I didn’t have time to look through all of the accessories, worse still, I really wanted extra 0.6 and 0.8 nozzles buy only saw they had 0.2 so grabbed one. Of course in the morning, I discovered that the 0.2 nozzle description was also a dropdown, and the other items were selectable in the dropdown. As someone with a lot of experience in UI, and new to BL - that was a bad/unfamiliar UI design that needs improving (yes there’s a little “v” next to the description I noticed the next day, but it’s not a standard pattern to use the description as a dropdown - the words “select your option” would have been useful). This pattern was made worse because they have high flow nozzles, then the normal nozzles, suggesting that is the list of available items.

I also called support once I got up the following morning, but it was too late - the shipping was in progress.

This isn’t a great first experience for me, as effectively due to technicalities on their end, and a poor user experience, I’m left feeling like I just dealt with the standard heartless corporate. What UI improvements should they make, well burying the different nozzle options may seem efficient, but it’s not obvious. Additionally, a message making it clear these discounts will only apply at original purchase and no future option will be available (makes the rules clear to me). Lastly, make it clear what the rules are when you have a pumped up new release, with a limited stock item e.g. tell uses if they have an item in their cart it will not be removed as long as they’re actively shopping - or what ever the rules are.

This is also a lost opportunity for BL, because I already have a lot of filament, so the option of trying their was appealing at a 40% discount. However, I will now simply use the filament I have and tune the profiles appropriately, and once they’re dialled in, I have no reason to change what I’ve always purchased.

I agree totally with you both. It’s a missed opportunity. I submitted several complaints online but I doubt it’ll have any traction.

A simple voucher for us to exercise the discount that wasn’t apparent at the initial launch would’ve been great. I tried to escalate to a senior customer service person but they just said the same thing and apologized but that they couldn’t do anything.

Very disappointing.

I got one, but I hadn’t purchased the accessories yet. This does mean that I don’t get to purchase the Not-QR Plate or the HF nozzles, but I do get a discount on the things that they didn’t sell out of already.

Yeah, it sucks. This is Bambu though. They’ve done this and similar other things in the past and aren’t being held to account. Personally, I see it as the cost of doing business with them. It’s also the reason I have ZERO loyalty. I’ll continue to buy their products when I need or want them, but the way they do business makes it really easy to move off to other companies when they are not the best choice.

When you say you got one, did you get a voucher?

What’s the best way to get a hold of Bambu Lab?

No one cares. lol. I didn’t get my discount either. It wasn’t some crazy amount of money anyway.

Guys, it’s simple, just buy another H2D and you can get the discounts.
