Retroactive 20% discount on accessories

I guess like the rest of you not all of the accessories were in-place for the discount at the time I placed my order. Then, afterward, there was no evident way to retrofit the order. I subsequently ordered the vision encoder plate and the two high flow nozzles after the fact separately, without discount, a few minutes afterward. They actually arrived before my H2D. I would have ordered filament at the discounted price for simultaneous purchase, but IIRC that part wasn’t working. Anyway, it didn’t make sense (for me at least) to buy it without the discount, so I didn’t.

Which were the items, if any, that Bambu deems available to after-the-purchase re-offer? I thought the idea was to get new H2D owners hooked on using Bambu filament, not sweeten he deal as incentive to buy an H2D. Well, if that was the idea, I’m fully opened to getting hooked if the same deal were offered today, as I’m still a new H2D owner. After all, everybody knows the real money is made on the come-back, and so discounting for new H2D owners makes sense. Is it even worth pursuing, or just water under the bridge at this point? I’m probably too late to the thread, but just thought I’d ask. I’m nearly indifferent at this point, as I’m nearly done dialing in my alternatives, but I could still be swayed to give it a try. Maybe I’d like it better and so have a reason to switch.

I don’t live in the US, and does it really matter if I provide proof? You seem entirely convinced that your perspective is correct.

Do you also believe it’s reasonable for people to take items out of your shopping cart at a physical store? There’s really no difference from online shopping, except that in a store, you could walk around indefinitely, holding onto items only to put them back later.

Shopify does offer a function to reserve items for product drops or releases, but this is not standard procedure for all purchases.

It’s quite frustrating to deal with bundled products when individual items might go out of stock, and you’re only notified at the very end of the checkout process. When you try again, you might find yet another item has sold out, and so on.

So, I think it’s fair to say that we will have to agree to disagree on whether this approach is beneficial.

I believe there was a promotion for the X1 Carbon when it was first released, offering a few months of discounted filaments. I purchased my X1 Carbon a bit later, in mid-December 2024, but at that time they still had a good deal on filaments, allowing you to buy and try different types to see if they were any good.

Let’s see what strategies they use to attract new users moving forward.

It’s out of fashion. Back in the day they were called rainchecks. Not even sure when that stopped. Maybe quite a while ago. Or, maybe they still exist, and I just haven’t noticed. I know that over Xmas Best Buy ran out of Samsung TV’s at their promotional price, and wouldn’t issue rainchecks. So, I went to Amazon and got the same deal there. No regrets either. Best Buy’s loss. Instead, they called me up a few days later and asked if I was still interested, after they got a new supply in. Nope. The deal was already done by then. If they had offered rainchecks, I probably would have stuck with Best Buy, but they didn’t.

More or less the same thing with Bambu filament, I suppose. Luckily we live in a world with a lot of alternatives. Once you go through the pain of fully dialing in a new filament, there’s not much reason to change just to do it all over again. I used to try a lot of different filaments from a lot of different manufacturers, but I got tired of all the dialing in. So, I narrowed it down a lot.

You could try reaching out to customer service and clearly explain what you said here. A few of us had luck by escalating it and getting a discount code. YMMV

If you’re in the USA I’d (I am at any rate) wait out the tarriff nonsense and let prices settle back down before buying stuff if you get a discount code.

The new pricing minus any discount is still greater than the launch pricing.
