Return of the P2S due to several problems

I want to request a refund for the P2S. Which system do I use to do this? I only see the support ticket.

(If you bought direct from Bambu)

Please let us know, why you will refund the p2s.

After using the P2S printer for a few days, I’ve decided to return it due to several problems I’m having:

  1. After two days, it started making squeaking noises in the X-Y axis movements. Although I lubricated and greased the pulleys and belts, as well as adjusted the belt tension several times, as indicated on the Wiki, the squeaking noises have been reduced but not eliminated.

  2. The VFA issue is disastrous, and I can’t afford to have it with the type of parts I print.

  3. I’m also finding that the overhangs aren’t as accurate as they should be, and I get better results with the P1S.

Thank you very much for your response.

Currently experiencing the same exact ISSUE… Bambu Labs is obviously aware of this issue. I love this printer already, but then this STARTED just today. Is there anything that seems to fix this ā€˜KNOWN’ issue and will Bambu address it?

Well, it seems to me that this has to be a QC issue. I’ve seen several people reporting the same issue. But my own P2S has been printing absolutely flawless since I got it a month ago. Absolutely no VFAs. Every print is just so smooth. every first layer is simply perfect. I think that both QC and handling during shipping play a big part. A 3D printer is a precision instrument, working on a fraction of a millimeter scale.

I’m only having problems with the VFA. No strange noises, adhesion issues, or interrupted prints, just the VFA, which is a pain in the ass.

Well, i’ve been checking some of my prints with large uniform surfaces, under different lighting, to see of I could find any VFA. But there was absolutely none.
I have my P2S placed directly on the floor (concrete) of our attic on it’s original rubber feet. And always with a fully loaded AMS on top. which gives quite some extra weight. Maybe this helps to eliminate VFA…

There has been a New Beta-Frimware update regarding the vfa issue. Maybe give this a try and redo your prints where vfa issue was the most noticeable.

I may be refunding mine, as well. We got ours and after plugging it in, it passed all calibration. Then, requested a firmware upgrade. Once the firmware upgrade finished, it now says there is an ā€œX-axis issueā€ and will never calibrate again.

Welcome to the forum. It’s unfortunate that you’re having issues. Suggest trying a factory reset first as this has in the past often fixed issues that come up from a firmware update.

Thanks! Will give that a try. I suppose I left out the fact that my wife accidentally killed power to the circuit while the printer was 25% through the firmware upgrade. ;(

It came back online and I was able to upgrade the firmware just fine again, but my worry is some of the sensors got into an unconfigured state so the subsequent firmware upgrade succeeded but it still can’t talk to the two sensors that are showing problems now.

My nozzle shows a 0° at all times too.

I can’t factory reset either because it gets to step 2 ā€œcut filamentā€ and just sits there. I have no filament yet, but pressed the cut handle/button thingy and nothing happens. :frowning:

Yes this is probably an issue.

The printer should boot to the main menu without having the do anything else.

You bought a printer without any filament? That’s like buying a car without fuel

Haha. Yeah. I ordered the P2S Combo for my son’s bday, but ordered the filament separately and it hasn’t arrived yet.

I’m hopeful it’s as simple as replacing a few of the boards or sensors, and it can turn into a good project to help my son learn proper maintenance and disassembly.

I would do a factory reset first before evening thinking about replacing stuff. You have two weeks to request a replacement or refund (not sure if the power-cut user error will affect this).

If you decide to turn this into an opportunity to take apart the machine and and learn, that is fine. But remember that it’s your decision and shouldn’t complain later that BL won’t give you a refund or replacement. We have seen this before

Was the VFA issue resolved? If so, how?

Welcome to the forum.

The VFA issue was mostly solved through software updates. New printers should not have this issue.
