So very dissatisfied with my H2D Purchase, does it get any better?

You don’t seem to get that this is a forum where users help each other. Do you understand what “community-driven” means?


You can rant all you want, but the most you’ll see here - if you’re lucky - is a support employee who has absolutely nothing to do with the situation. You probably don’t even realize that Bambu is Asian and that there’s still a significant language barrier between us. As if a Chinese manager from Bambu were actually going to read this - your rant.

Let me tell you what’s going to happen: You achieve absolutely nothing. You’ll just end up frustrating yourself, and people in the community will become less willing to understand your situation.


In short, you’re barking up the wrong tree without even realizing it. You know this isn’t a circus where the loudest monkey in the troupe gets the most attention?

Yes and no.
In my experience, these are not the most reliable printers on the market – not even close. I fully agree that technical equipment will fail from time to time and that owners need to be able to perform basic diagnosis and maintenance themselves. However, if I had an aircraft engine that was as reliable as my Bambu Lab printer, I would never even consider taking off in that aircraft.

My H2D is by far the most unreliable printer I have ever owned; I have had to replace virtually every major component at least twice in less than a year. By comparison, my old Prusa MK3S never came close to this level of failure – it could comfortably run 24/7/365 and, over time, still produce more usable output than I have ever been able to achieve with my H2D.

well after quite a while being very happy with my H2Ds, i’m now getting the dreaded “The left extruder nozzle temperature is abnormal; the heater may have an open circuit.” in one of them…

i’ve already did the test of switching and connecting the right hotend to the left connector, and it looks like it’s the board that has died… i’m communicating with support and i’m sure they’ll send over the replacement parts under warranty, but changing the board is such a chore… really not looking forward to it.. pretty dissapointed that the board died, this printer only has around 1.5k hours on it and will already need a pretty complex intervention to fix it

i love the H2Ds, but we have to admit that maintenance and repairs on the toolhead are not the easiest, so i understand when some people get upset of having to do a complex repair

There are other options if you are commercial and need hard-core reliability. They are also much more expensive then I could in good faith reccomend a hobbyist.

We have an H2D Pro up in the engineering department across from my office, and it is like a toaster oven–it just works. Zero problems since we got it in September and it just puts out prints. Mostly PLA and PETG and TPU (85A) but some GF and CF material, including PA6.

How did I SPAM you ? And as far you can rant..well thank you I appreciate you giving me the permission. Yea I get it beleive it or not, what I also GET is a large percent of you folk belled BL. You all have issues I can almost gurantee it, maybe you don’t care about quality and customer service but some do. My deal is simple enough folks complain maybe Bmbu steps up maybe not BUT I can guarentee they won’t as long as you take the beating. And yea I am from the south but I do know it’s a Chinese Company, maybe they hire some Americans right here in the states for customer service. Every think about that? I can assure you Bambu knows what is said here, maybe not but any quality company tracks social media. As far as troubleshoot oh I have, Like I said before All i have done is troubleshoot, not printing like I want I can tell you that. Jusy spent 10mins trying to get the filament loaded, seems to be getting stuck in the buffer. Not a big deal but 10 mins the machine could have been printing. Nothing like man handling this huge machine, like I got room to work on this printer, it’s a full fledged pain in the ■■■. $2000 bucks and It is not much better than my $400 Flashforge.

There is NO reason a board should go out in with those low hours. I have had PC and other gear last many years with no issues. Mechanical stuff that moves still should last but I can almost understand that. Unacceptable and I bet you wait for 2 weeks to get it, like Retro said you got plenty of time to troubleshoot it now.

So show me where Bambu says it a hobby machine. I bet they say use in your print farm somewhere.

I guess the pro works better, I am glad it works for you but as been said here it’s a hobby machine.

Just a little less hobby than my Neptune 4 Pro printer I took to work to demonstrate the prototyping advantages of FDM (done in-house, we used to farm out FDM) to the boss, who then authorized the H2D… :smiley:

Well things break in 3d printing, I have different brands and types of printers and sometimes components fail, it’s just how it is, not really something “unacceptable”, and warranty will take care of it. it just requires a bunch of steps to replace, thats the annoying part, there are printers much easier to work on, but then again they don’t offer the same level of engineering and print quality the h2d does, so it is what it is

I’m not angry as you seem to be, just annoyed that I’ll have to spend quite a bit of time working on it to repair

well i’ll have to make a correction here, after chatting with support it was really just the left hotend heating block nothing like the board or anything like that, i received the replacement today and it was actually pretty easy to get it done :smiley: already back up and running

Great. Normal maintenance and good filament is the way to go. Of course I get the occasional issue, but I understand that this is part of the process.

Even on the 500k USD Stratasys F900s that we have in our manufacturing lab at my workplace, they have a fault that needs maintenance once a week or so.

Have adult relations with your significant other.

There are two options: You can work on yourself - or you can find another hobby.

With that attitude, there’s no point in recommending another manufacturer to you anyway, because you’ll run into exactly the same problems. Sell your 3D printers and use online services that will print things for you; you lack the maturity to handle this hobby. I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way, but some hobbies are just more demanding than others.

Although “maturity ” is almost the wrong word, since we also have kids on the forum who manage to get the hang of it. However, they can also be very mature for their age in the way they act and think.

My H2d printed asa for 18x15 Hours continuously, I promised a full maintenance after that but I still printed more 30 hours of pla because I wanted a couple of stuff for myself. Prints good and reliable. If your device has couple of faulty parts just solve them and enjoy the device :wink:

Thats not exactly what i said, I was talking about my personal experience. I have owned X1C, P1P, two P1S, H2D, H2C and Ive had to make a few repairs but nothing major and my printers run 24/7 most of the time. So with all 6 printers Ive had good reliability, yes 6 is statistically insignificant but its still a data point.
