SOLVED: printable AMS Desiccant boxes don’t allow the AMS lid to close

Hi there, I figured I’d share this here since it’s come up 4 times for users who’ve printed the SPILLPROOF AMA Desiccant Boxes, reporting that they can’t close their AMS lid after inserting them.

So far all of the users whom have reported this issue have had the same thing happen: the AMS works fine but the assembly wasn’t seated all the way down in the cabinet. Luckily it is a quick fix: you simply open up the AMS in the same way you’d do so to replace the PTFE tubes, removing a couple of screws, take the assembly out, and drop it back down - ensuring it sits all the way to the bottom.

Here is the official Bambu Lab tutorial video how to open up the AMS assembly: https://youtu.be/23vWDT5QiFM?si=e6aiiCMcpXQd4FmC

Hope this helps someone, so far these instructions have been the fix for everyone with the issue. Thanks!

Unfortunately this fix didn’t work for me - perhaps I have an earlier iteration AMS or something because these fit my other AMS just fine.

In the case of the affected AMS, the larger centre boxes just about fit albeit quite tight, and the smaller side boxes were borderline impossible to fit in, even when applying some force to the top edge and pulling it upwards.

Again, I’m not sure of the root of the issue but the most likely explanation would be a different iteration to most, or perhaps mine was in a one-off run wherein the tolerances were slightly off.

Nevertheless, I’ll opt to re-print these with 95% scaling and see how that turns out. Thanks again for the model.
