SOLVED : Sharing User Presets between Bambu Studio & Orca Slicer?

I have done a lot of calibrating in Orca and have a few machine changes and a bunch of filament changes that are saved in Orca as “User Presets” is there a way to get them visible in Bambu Studio ? I looked in Program files for both and do not see “User Presets” Or an option of where to save them when prompted. It would be nice to have them available to both programs.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Scott

If you log into your account in Bambu Studio they should be there.

Thank you for your reply.
I am logged in to both programs with the same user account and have even had them both open at the same time. But the presets do not transfer or show up on both programs.
This is completly on the PC. I do not use Bambu handy ( I don’t have a cell phone ) and I am in Lan only mode. Could that be the problem ??

Scott

Yes.
Orcaslicer and Bambu Studio can only sync through the Bambu cloud.

Using Windows, my User filament presets are in (hidden) Appdata directories:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\OrcaSlicer\user\{10digitnumber}\filament C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\user\{10digitnumber}\filament
where {10digitnumber} is different for each user (or machine?)

If you must stay in LAN mode, you should be able to copy the .json files from one directory to the other, but you will need to manually update any changes.

Calibrations in the two programs have been handled differently and some settings from one slicer might be ignored in the other. I use Orca for my calibrations and use only it for critical prints.

Thank you Ikraus !
I do not mind using the cloud on occasion for something like this. But it really slows down sending a job to the printer, so I use Lan instead.
I logged my machine in and opened both programs, nothing moved over yet. It has been about a 1/2 hour. Any idea how often things sync?

Thanks again !!

Scott

I think changes are recorded in the cloud as soon as a preset is saved, and then all presets will be updated when the other slicer is opened.

In order to force a sync, you may need to log out of Studio and Orca then log back in, agreeing to sync, before the presets are updated. Without that agreement, the presets will not be in the cloud to be transferred to the other slicer.

+++++++_+
EDIT: I’ve not tried it, but these Preset settings in Preferences may let you enable sync without going through the logout/login dance. Obviously, you will need to check the boxes in both slicers.

Thanks again Ikraus !
I did not have the box checked on the preferences page.
Checked the box, opened Orca and everything was there !!!
I did not log out and in. Just checked the box.

Many thanks

Hello @Scott_M feel free to contribute your filament presets to User Presets Collection on GITHUB, thanks !

Hi, I’m currently at the same point. I’m started with Bambu Studio with my A1 mini, added my other octoprint printers, too and would like to use features like gcode thumbnails or object labels now, which are only available at Orca. Just installed OrcaSlicer (On MacOS), logged in with my bamboo account, checked the sync setting on both and nothing got syned right now.

Are I’m right, that there should all printers and materials available in Orca now as they are in Bambu Studio, or are I’m wrong?

I’m using Bambu Studio 1.9.1.67 and OrcaSlicer 2.0.0. Could this be an issue?

Thanks,
Denis
