Some fonts do not render correctly

I’m attempting to add text as a negative part so I need to use a stencil font. I’ve loaded two stencil fonts and they show up in Bambu Studio but when I add text using those fonts they do not render as the stencil font. They appear as simple sans serif letters like Helventica. Is there some restriction on what fonts can be used by Bambu Studio? Apparently all system fonts cannot be used if you want them to render properly.

As far as I know, the ones that appear in the drop-down. All of them should be usable as both positive or negatives.
For negatives, just right click on the object, select “Change Type”, set it as “Negative Part”, then position within the object.

I know how to make text a Negative Part. The problem is that the font is not rendered properly in Studio. Here’s a comparison of how some sample text is rendered using a stencil font in Inkscape and how it is rendered in Studio. Those are both using the same font.

Ah. Sorry, I did misunderstood your question.

Unfortunately, that is not my forte. Since you probably searched the forum yourself, I fear that this Windows fonts in text-shape - #8 by Scott_M is also not helpful. I am afraid that I am unable to help properly. Apologies and :crossed_fingers:

Detect thin walls maybe? You might need a .2 nozzle as well depending on the size of the print.

im having this problem too they wont render but it shows up in the drop down menu any solutions???

i want to use stencil font

Did you solve the issue someway?
I just noticed that orcaslicer (2.2.0) works fine with font rendering and slicing on macOS, BS 1.9.x does not.

I had the same problem using the Millie Round Bold font – I used Prusa Slicer to add the text, saved the project and then opened it in Bambu Studio – the text appeared as intended.

Also, you can just use Orca Slicer in Windows – just remember you have to install the font in Windows before it will appear in the slicers. There are plenty of instructions online guiding you through the process. You will need to restart your slicer if it was open during the font installation process.
