What I like about the clamp approach over the print modifier approach is that it’s so easy and, in some sense, guaranteed to work (if the clamps are strong enough). Chopping things up with print modifiers isn’t as clean in the final result, and it’s extra time and effort on the setup–and it’s less guaranteed to work on the first try.
Maybe just print them?
