Funny thing though, he estimates H2D pricing (the complete package) at around 4k US… That kinda falls within the price range i was estimating in one of my previous posts. Add to that the maintenance/repair/replacement costs (i.e. replacement of the whole print head) that most likely won’t be available elsewhere, due to the complexity of it, and one should wonder if it’s really worth buying it, when there’s plenty of less expensive choices on the market now.
He definitley made me think about it.
No doubt, i think we all got caught up in hype, but the third party lock out and future of needing to repair makes me a big nervous for that amount of money. Paying more to having less say what I can do with my own printer is a bit backward lol
thats why i think this video is a bit BS… just speculations. we will see in 1hour . I am pretty sure bambu wants to compete with prusa xl. the only way to do so imo is by having a better price then them
If, you had to spend an extra $300–$400 on a laser, what would be the first thing you’d cut or engrave ?
othe then paper … wood or cardboard there is not much to do with a 400$ laser. just think about the laser pecker lp2 or lp3… wich are more expensive and barely engrave anything
Those who arent familiar with laser engraving I think will be like, “oh nice” to having it, but those of us familiar with it, i’m preparing to be disappointed in what I can actually use it for lol. I dont expect to feel like it some kinda “game changer” or anything, but I hope i’m proven wrong
I think if its more than 3k, I might pass on it for now.
Yes you are right in the view of home use, but my statement is not limited to home use. Since the printer should by also an advanced printer-… Since the printer is supposed to be an advanced printer - Shielding gases are also not always required for laser cutting… However, the printer is not performing as expected and is not delivering.
The new Orca Slicer printers are great, though. I’m going to order a Sovol SV08 now, since the new Bambu doesn’t deliver what I’m looking for.
@Hank What exactly are you looking for?
Well, RIP other printer manufacturers lol. This will be a hard price point to beat on the base model non ams. Just use an old ams
Well, since the beginning of this year, I’ve been cutting back on my professional side; it just became too much and now my clients have to accept it now, they get a new one or not…
In that sense my 3D Priority also change a littel, size and potential on increasing. It can also take up a little bit of time (as long as it stays at a little). It’s a shame the Sovol doesn’t have a lidar, but whatever, you can’t have everything. The decision has been made…
God Video, as on the video, “I think they produce a machine they want” and thas all about since X1C - they make a printer were they self like to have. By the X1C they like to bild a machine were everyone like to have… So you are right RIP…
I think they built a printer that gives them more consumables to sell you to increase them profits
Exactly this. Im 4 grand in and i dont even have the filter i need. Looks like they didnt even include the safety glasses. Surprised about that since it would help cover their butts in case of a lawsuit
It’s like Disneyland. Your ticket gets you into the theme park, and there are a few free rides, but everything else is extra. Way extra. But heh, it’s a fun place to be, isn’t it?
What would be the use case for the safety glasses? Are you planning on defeating the interlock with the laser operating?
Thats true. If there is a lock, why are they selling glasses? Maybe its still bed to look through the door for long periods. Hope not.
I think you already know the answer…its the same reason they are $40 when AliExpress sell (probably) the same ones for $8 lol
