Speculation about new printer announcements

I’m pretty sure in some review videos I seen the smoke filter used on the laser units so I assume that’s for either printers, I can’t imagine they can jam the same filtration in the printer as what’s in that big ass smoke unit

Jups and however H2D RIP.
Way I always think and IDEX is may a god Idea - becouse ot TPU.
Way I was thinking a single AMS will be god - becouse of TPU
Way I would buy a new Bambulab, becouse of TPU

And whats happen, starting at 14min. 24 sec. by TPU, is it not even there own isn`t it? And I even do not like there own TPU…:

Agree about the tpu. Seems nobody can figure it out.

Please have a look how a good filter system for laser fumes is built … Short answer, even if i didnt saw the one built in in action: for sure not.

Im afraid of the health of some poor guys. Lasers are no toys and require some serious knowledge. When i take a look in the forum and see some questions of people who “just buy, use and have no interest to learn something about that thing” …

I was mostly being sarcastic. I had just woken up lol.

Has anybody found a video that shows actual details? Like electronics enclosure setup or even hotend fan size etc

Maybe look for a fume extractor that complies with relevant standards:

Standard Body Standard Scope
ASTM F1215 Fume collector efficiency
OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Exposure limits for air contaminants

and look for replacement filters made by a reputable company, like 3M.

Find something that’s tested for efficacy by a certified lab, or else you may be throwing your money away. Not only do the filters have to be good, but the seals around the filters have to proven good through rigorous testing, or it’s likely junk. The classic scam is that a seller will advertise their product as having HEPA filters, which may well be true, but the seals are worthless because the seller doesn’t really care about your health and cut corners out of stupidity or simply to increase their profit at your expense.

Decided on the xtool one since its been tested and is high quality. Im not trying to smell anything. and I live in the suburbs, so not tryjng to stink out the neighbors by running it out the window.

@StreetSports
I just now had a look at their website. Whichever one you ordered, I hope it works better than their desktop unit:

Is that the $1,000 one?
I like how they dont even hold the sensor the same for each test. Seems super scientific lol

xTool

SafetyPro AP2 Air Purifier with SuperCyclone System

No, it’s the $300 one. It was a facepalm because their own measurements, shown in the photo, reveal that the particle count was reduced by less than 50% and the TVOC actually got worse using their “desktop air purifier.” Just sayin.

Anyway, just a bit of humor to spice up your day.

I’d love for someone to break down BL Smoke filtration and verify its effectiveness before I went that route though. I trust no one when it comes to proper filtration. Need something for ASA filtration cuz even in a room venting out the window after 5 mins i still get a head ache right behind my eyeballs

Looks like you nailed it.

The one saving grace would be if it could prints stacks of objects using the two filaments to keep the stacked objects cleanly separated.

Wait wait wait wait… wait a minute.

Couldn’t you alternate between PLA and PETG for perfect stacking that’s easy to pull apart?

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m thinking, though I suppose you could also do it with a regular AMS and only need to purge once per layer, so not a big deal even the old fashioned way. I’ve never tried it, so I’m just assuming…

e.g. imagine printing stacks of eggs that afterward can all be cleanly separated into individual eggs.

Yep you can. I’ve only done it with the Bambu support filament but I don’t see why PETG wouldn’t work.

@NeverDie @Josh-3D Tsk Tsk Someone didn’t watch the official marketing video LOL. It’s a family of 4, each doing different things with the H2D… and that’s exactly what the son did. He printed his chainmail armor folded up with another filament between layers.

I was busy watching the shill marketing videos :unamused:

You should watch it, I thought it was really well done. Let me put it this way, I can see someone watching it who’s never thought about 3D printing, laser engraving or vinyl cutting and then being like, “I NEED THAT NOW!!!” lol.

Watch the marketing video and tell me I didn’t hit this nail right on the head lol.

Edit: @PrinterMcgee already said it.

They have a video showing stacking of one huge piece of. chainmail by folding it and using soluable material too.
