Tomorrow. I’ll put it to the test on saturday(work). But yeah, Ive watched alot of review now and they all seem really good. We shall see. Alot of bambu owners are saying its on par. If all works out, its a larger x1e that can handle engineering materials for $800 and hopefully pushes Bambu to make something even better or atleast compete closer on pricing whe. it comes to next gen/xl
I was watching a YouTuber that prints full size Star Wars Droids.
She has a few different makes of printers, Qidi & Bambu being in there.
Her go-to printers are the Qidi ones but she likes the Bambu ones as well
This is actually an interesting thread.
I’ve been in the 3D printing market for quite some time now and there is two brands/products I have been very happy with because of (what is for me the most important points) ease of use, reliability and quality of prints.
My first brand/ printer that satisfied those needs was my rather expensive Raise 3D. Then I’ve purchased the X1C at launch please the A1 and A1 Mini further down the line. They all fullfilled my needs.
But I believe other manufacturers are catching up fast. The new QIDI is a good example. But since I would really love to stay in the current eco system due to compatibility etc I would love to finally see an announcement from BL with another leap in our printing world.
CNC Kitchen made a video about a rotating toolhead so overhangs are not an issue anymore. That’s the kind of innovation I hope BL is going to present us with… soon™.
Downloaded the qidi app, it’s flashforgeesque, just more Chinese. Requires a verification code that didn’t show in the 60 seconds allowed, and when it did, everything was in Chinese.

I will be so excited about your reports. I have to chain myself up so that I don’t immediately run after one… I really needed an iron will to get through it until after Christmas. Maybe it will even come out like on the 5M, which was completely sold out for the whole January as well as February 2024. Then I have to keep my nerves for another 2 months again as this year.
I don’t think that Bambulab has to come any closer to the price, at least for me but I’m anything but not the average customer, which is probably good for Bambulab. My X1c will continue to run for a long time, if not there will come a new one without AMS. QIDI was always on my list and it was always a close decision - When they closed the gap at IT, they always had things in the printer that made my heart beat faster - 10 instead of 8mm, a massive print bed. Metal where it needs metal and not where it looks pretty and just gives you the illusion of value. Handles, Roll holder where it belongs to, an off switch on the side, insulation… hopefully it will continue in this direction, if the others stay on there path, then everyone will have the printer they want…
So there is only one question, why doesn’t Flashfrog and QIDI have a forum yet. I would even register if I’m would by the only one

and the list goes on. True, none are “official” qidi endorsed forums, but because there ain’t one, users came up with their own solutions.
I have to admit, I am a little jealous of that photo…

Me too. Setting up a new printer makes for a good Thursday night in my book.
Fedex said between 11 and 3. At 9:45 the system changed to say there was a failed attempt to deliver. I have dogs so i know they hadnt came. No note on the door and it was before the expected time.
Called fedex and asked for a supervisor. They called the hub and had the driver bring my package.
Just a heads up in case you find yourself in a similar situation. The driver looked extremely butthurt that he had been caught.
They drive me crazy playing these games. The post office in my area has marked stuff “No access to delivery location” and all sorts of other statuses which basically translate in to they were ready to call it a day.

I give him 1/4 point for lifting it up the stairs. I’ve had drivers who were too lazy to do even that much.

Have you seen that show where there’s a guy who will look at a picture and tell you almost exactly where in the world it was taken? It’s a pretty cool, if not incredibly rare, skill.

I haven’t but it sounds interesting. There’s a game called Geoguesser too, that guy would probably dominate it.
There was a group of grad students at Stanford who played that game. So, as a class project, they trained an AI to play it, and apparently it’s incredibly good at it. It was reported on NPR.
LOL. I propose that StreetSports crop that photo and use it as the StreetSports avatar. Or anything really. The default robot logo has got to go. You’re too popular for that. Every time I see it I do the Scoopy Doo “Huh? Who’s that?”
