Speculation about new printer announcements

If sales drop, or there aren’t any more sales because there are no more imports (due to spiraling out tariffs imports become untenable), I’m wondering who’s gonna pay them? Or perhaps we’ll have to go back to the good old ways (and practices) from the Prohibition era?

It looks like an Ender 5 of some kind. Where do you see that it’s 400mm? Ender 5 Plus is 350x350x400mm, so it does have 400mm, but only in the z-axis.

I found this on the Elegoo Discord today and it made me laugh. The “Centauri Carbon” was supposed to come out in September… but it didn’t and there haven’t been any updates. Oh and Owen really is Elegoo tech support lol…

Just heard it mentioned in a video. Could be wrong. I think its an ender mod.

Very skillful copy-paste…and problem’s solved …

In the past there existed an “ender extender” that could extend an Ender 5 up to either 400x400mm or 500x500mm. However, I just checked, and those kits are no longer being sold.

On a different topic, it would be fun to see an off-the-shelf 3D printer that comes pre-fitted with a supernova Chube. The flow rate would be amazing!

Prusa xl’s are on sale on printedsolid. Just ordered an xl. Just a single head for now. Gotta slow down on the printer purchases. I should have bought 4 gen 2 bambus this month coughbambucough

MK4S kits are $780

Crazy sale.

This is going to be a very merry Christmas indeed at your house!! I had been saying for a while that if PrintedSolid started selling the MK4s kit and it was around the same price as the Prusa site I would buy it… and as soon as I pre-order the Core One they do both lol. Yesterday morning I took a long look at that Flsun S1 Pro for $999 but I remembered you weren’t crazy about it and also that it is 90 pounds?! The post office refused to deliver one of my Neptune 4 Maxes and it only weighed 48lbs lol.

After my experience, i wouldnt buy the s1 for $500. I dont hate on printers often, but the s1 deserves it. And yeah, it took 2 people to move it anywhere. The only decent spot for it is on the floor because its so tall.

That depends very much on how merry his wife will find this to be, or… on how well (and how much) he’s prepared to compensate her… just a matter of numbers :upside_down_face::melting_face:

We figured out how to stay happy long ago. Keep the money seperate. Been together 22 years and never shared a bank account. We split the bills.

I wonder what bambu lab’s trustpilot rating is. Do I dare look?

This is a long ass thread, and I tried to use search to check if anyone has discussed a desktop “polyjet” aka “material jetting” aka “CMYK jetting” printer yet, and I’m not getting any hits. I wonder if Bambu is working on something like that.

See Flashforge’s CJ270 material jetting printer they were showing off at the FormNext conference recently. Last week, I noticed that too, it will really be a new step for figures etc. But I think that the parts will really only be based on appearance and less on use. Interesting development, but I’m a little less interested. But it’s certainly an interesting market that they approaching.

Thats great  I think it important that each one overtakes responsibility so he feels value. On our case, and since I do not have any hobbies in her opinion, we don`t share the bills, we assign the obligations – I taking care on the live coverage things like house maintenance, Household money, Health insurance, retirement provision for me and her and she takes care of things like furniture, vacation funds, restaurant meals for two, clothes without a work background, etc. i.e. the things where I would never spend money but will enjoy and a good marriage doesn’t work without. So I don’t feel like wasting money that doesn’t put any cash in. And yes, my accounts are mine and her accounts are hers too. We don’t have a shared account either. There is only one jointly managed account, but even that banc account is more for her business than private. And by the way, my favorite Chinese manufacturer is currently APsystem with their QT2 but Zendure Hyper 2000 Solar is also interesting - somehow I like it when something makes money without having to get up.

However and back to 3D Printers:

Since every printer has to bring in money, I left the S1 off the list. For me it would be more of a printer format for air extraction and ventilation systems and you can buy that cheaply.

I had hopes for Co Print and Phrozen Arco, but they really fell unacceptably far short of their scheduled goals. I was really horribly wrong for my needs.

I’m really excited about the Ideaformer IR3 V2, which is hopefully coming soon. I have so much work to do with panels and covers that are simply not available at the moment or are very expensive to buy per meter if they are just a little out of standard size. Who knows, maybe my wooden garden house will get an ASA CF doubling  Also door and window seals where you can never find the right one if the old one is broken. Also sun visors and other blinds where you would quickly need 5-6 m, where there is simply too much work if there are no 1 m + pieces.

I’m also excited about the Flashfroge AD5X, Drain systems from ASA with TPU coating while really interesting. When it comes to lettering boards, I change already - I’ve already switched from multi-colored to DIN stencil writing “DIN Schablonierschrieft” a lettering that we have been using for laser cutting for a long time - can still be read after it has been cut out of a steel plate.

In the meantime, my X1C is just sitting around unused - I only have a few printers that are only used for optics and the interior of the building. I really have too many component failures, especially when they fall out of someone’s hand - so I now usually print with hard TPU or ASA CF reinforced. In the case of TPU, it is simply better to have several printers standing around than an AMS. And by ASA CF the X1C has simply too much wear and tear. This is where I really come to the biggest surprise, this thing is really a workhorse with maximum of ease maintenance:

Sorry Hank

However,

Tomestone analys his power consuption of his 3d printers and hits the the Topic solarpowerbanks with solar, so I m not the only one on this topic.

His summary of total consumtion starts by 21min. 36 sec. and he notes (if I understand correctly) that one of his printers is using more energy during a week in summary as his cooktop (Despite the house heat pump, the cooktop is one of my biggest consumers in my household)

Well you need to turn on the subtitels as it is a german video, however - I like APsystem and the Zendure Hyper 2000 much more than Anker but that’s may a matter of taste.

Let’s try to keep this topic about printer speculation please.

Will do. Ill keep heeping the thread alive. Sorry about that. Back to some Prusa love.

Shows it printing, close up print results and also a quick shot of the Prusa AFS automated core xy rack system that came out in 2021

The AFS could easily fill my living room… I think I should begin explaining to my missus that she doesn’t need or have to worry about finding new furniture for it. Now, if i could find something that would fit into the upper side in the remaining toilet space (I was thinking “resin”, but despite the chosen location, resin it’s way to smelly)… I think I could settle peacefully into a standard routine …

What about it confers “maximum of ease maintenance”?
