As the title says. Just had a role of filament (bambu gold PLA with RFID chip) literally come apart mid print. I don’t have time to respool a fresh, out of the bag spool at work so i’ve binned it. Has anyone else had this happen yet? I’m getting very disillusioned with Bambu lab with the numerous issues i’ve had with 2 of their printers now.
I’ve had this happen one time and it was because the spool was not fully closed. Always check that it is turned as far as it will go, you will feel it “lock” into place.
Appreciate the fact it’s not just me. I think we can all agree we shouldn’t have to double check. The only saving grace for me is that it isn’t my money being wasted, just my time lol
There are locking clips you can print for the spool or you can use one of the many types of center weights/desiccant holders to clamp the spool halves together.

YES, this happens to me on multi-color prints when rolling back the filament. The spool tangles and sometimes goes over the top of the spool and i need to run downstairs to fix it. SOOO annoying.
