The squeak happens when the filament roll is moving. Sounds like its coming from one of the rollers, are they easy to replace?
This is happening to me too. My AMS is still new, probably less than 100 hours of print time.
I had the same. Some PTFE spray worked for me.
But where do you spray the ptfe spray
If your rollers are making noise it’s in the bearings. You can use PTFE spray but it won’t last.
I would recomend a VERY small amount of the grease you’d use to grease the z rods, like just touch it, on the bearing (metal on the end if anyone reading doesn’t know) and then spin the bearing. You won’t be able to do much if the spool itself is squeaking.
If you want, the rollers are in the store, AMS spare parts.
Isn’t it possible to jsut change the bearings? Which to buy?
i maybe am about to say something dumb but. can you use WD-40 on it?
happen to me as well a little oil on bearings made it go away.
as long as you spray it onto a paper towel and then wipe it carefully onto the gears not touching the filament, i think you should be fine and probably work quite well
But wouldn’t WD-40 be only a temporary solution? Most of our AMS’s are fairly new and i doubt they’re rusting or need to be cleaned with a heavy solvent like WD. It would only evaporate and possibly make the problem worse. using grease would be a much better long term solution imo. i could be completely wrong here!
I had that issue, but I fixed it with some lighter oil
Mine is 3 months old and also make squeaking noises sometimes, and I can easily fix it by pushing the rubber sleeve on the front roller to the side.
I still have to take it apart and glue the rubber part or something.
