The idea of a “certified electrician” is stupid. Most electricians deal with building and panel wiring, NOT small electronic devices. I work with electricians all of the time because what I do is beyond what they know. I’m a good example of why stating a certified electrician is required is ludicrous.
I work as a control system technician and work on electronic devices for measuring different parameters. I’ve been trained in NASA high reliability soldering. I install, connect, and loop test PLC’s (programmable logic controllers). I work on electric valve controls. I also repair any of this stuff that’s repairable. I have a curriculum vitae that’s 3 pages long dealing with all of the training I have. I could wall paper one wall in a small room with the manufacturer’s training certificates I have.
With all of this, there is no “certification” program for what I do, so technically, by their definition, I’d need to get someone with much LESS experience to meet their requirements.
Heck a computer tech or an appliance repairman would be MUCH better suited for replacing the bed than a certified electrician.
