The Bambu Lab A1 is making its comeback!

so im guessing their definition of “soon” is not my definition of “soon”, which is about a week. When is soon? another month from now?

Not to mention that their statement of the “ first batch of replacement heatbed units is arriving at local warehouses” how many heatbeds are in the first batch? How many batches are there? Is the first batch designated to ones that returned the printer?

I recently bought a P1S as I didn’t want to go without a printer after using the A1. These are the best printers I’ve purchased but the lack of updates, transparency and support response, makes me second guess future purchases.

Probably not much. I don’t think those warehouses around the world are big, otherwise those filament stocks in the EU store wouldn’t be almost empty all the time.

BBL being vague in their communications… that’s unusual for them…

How much better of a response time on a major issue then 3 days do you expect? They’ve been transparent with their timelines and have been meeting them on the entire recall.

It’s been 9 days since their last update, not 3.

They missed the first, and most important timeline, “end of March for replacements” by 11 days and counting.

If you read other social channels or threads here, some people already got their new responses. Bambu is already sending those parts already, but it’s in the order of tickets creation date. If you made your decision later, like I did, you will have to wait.

Understood and I am glad to hear it. My only qualm with BBL in this whole process has been communication. Other than that, they’ve done a great job.

Except for they are dispatched to us by the end of March April 1st was when the notice was sent to your support ticket. 1 day late on notification is extremely acceptable especially in a case like this.

I’m not sure how fast you think large scale freight is via ocean freight. As well as unpacking the container organizing container and prepping for individual shipping. But there’s no reason a person to expect another update for a minimum of two weeks after.

If you want to relate this to the car industry a recall takes around 6 months before you start seeing most first batches of parts available to dealers.
Hell 2nd keys that companies promised customers when they bought during the height of the pandemic still haven’t all been supplied to customers and that’s going on 2 years. Bambus response, development of a fix, communication, and start of the process to get heatbeds out is well above and beyond most large scale recalls in every aspect.

The idea of a “certified electrician” is stupid. Most electricians deal with building and panel wiring, NOT small electronic devices. I work with electricians all of the time because what I do is beyond what they know. I’m a good example of why stating a certified electrician is required is ludicrous.

I work as a control system technician and work on electronic devices for measuring different parameters. I’ve been trained in NASA high reliability soldering. I install, connect, and loop test PLC’s (programmable logic controllers). I work on electric valve controls. I also repair any of this stuff that’s repairable. I have a curriculum vitae that’s 3 pages long dealing with all of the training I have. I could wall paper one wall in a small room with the manufacturer’s training certificates I have.

With all of this, there is no “certification” program for what I do, so technically, by their definition, I’d need to get someone with much LESS experience to meet their requirements.

Heck a computer tech or an appliance repairman would be MUCH better suited for replacing the bed than a certified electrician.

VoxePLA is very good quality PLA that is only $17 per kg when ordered in small amounts. It uses the Bambu Tough profile. Not a huge color selection, but all the basics are covered.

thats pretty cool ill have to look into it next time i need filament. for now ive got like 8 spools of jayo lol.

Looking to purchase a
Bambu printer after having a horrible experience with a used Creality printer I bought. I’m a beginner to 3D printing and everything I’ve heard lately says this is the printer to get. The dilema is this recall. Should I wait it out and get the A1 when it returns to stock or get the A1 mini instead? Not sure if I’d ever print anything bigger than what the mini could handle but I’d hate to have any regrets later. If they were in stock right now I’d get the A1 non mini for sure. It just sounds like no one knows when they’ll be back up for sale…and will the sale price still be around once they’re back in stock? Actually is it always $399 for the A1 and the discount only applies if you get the AMS bundle at $559?

I could not agree more. End of March, it’s the middle of April! A real disappointment.

I asked support a question over a week ago and no response. . . I see posts of other people getting their heatbeds shipped and i still got nothing. I had my printer two weeks and barely used it and it was recalled… Why cant support reply and what order are these shipping in!!! im so mad at this point with how this is being handled and the company.

So I received the initial A1 replacement email on February 5th, replied on the 13th and received the Thank-you-for-submitting-your-A1-callback-request email on the 14th. Since then, I have received that initial replacement email twice more including again this morning. When I log into the website, I see an open support ticket so I know everything is still good, but it tripped me out for a minute and made me think that my replacement selection didn’t register the first time. Anyone else get that email again after choosing your option?

I received an email yesterday from Bambulab support that they are preparing the shipment of my new heatbed and that they will provide the tracking number within 3 days.

Did you get your voucher information also?

I also recieved two additional emails after the original sent Feb 5. Like everyone else I have recieved no other communication from Bambu Lab. I don’t think this is a very professional way to do business, and now I’m thinking I have made a mistake and I’m beginning to wish I had never made the purchase in the first place.

I received the tracking number today, just one day after the announcement of the shipment… Bambulab asked me to provide three pictures of the correct installation of the new heatbed. After submitting these pictures I shall receive the discount code within 2 business days.
