The new "Home" for profiles

Hi!

The new unannounced “Home” for profiles feels very rushed, the pinning of models is weird, the collections still have none of the features asked for and 3D Models “tab” doesn’t display counts…

yeah not too user friendly in my opinion

Wow, this looks like ■■■■.

Wait until they announce it as “we heard you, the new home is here and it’s best for you because we feel like it”
They were pretty busy while their users were complaining and they did the same mistake. Do changes first, announce later. Bambu style

It’s not a pretty sight at all. You can pin 8 designs there but it adds another click to go through all designs from the creator. Instead of being easier, it’s just like the connect app, another middle-man to get where we want to, and that is to the designs of that creator.

My 2 cents are worth what they are worth

I like the addition of the achievements, although I feel like the top 100 designers of 2024 should be an achievement. Congrats on the contest wins.

In the “Recent Makes” I have two models I haven’t printed. They were printed by my husband, from his own account of course, and using Bambu Studio (I only use Handy).

Good that i wasn’t the one to bring this to the front. I have also noticed the same. Models that my wife printed on her own account are showing on mine account. Is this the trust Bambu really wants to bring forward? They just showed that they know what we print, on which account we print and maybe much more.

Another rant. Why should people see what i printed? That is plain wrong. Why would someone want to see that a printed a d1ck whistle? It’s just plain wrong thay we dont get to choose what we display or not. The whistle example was just that, an example and doesnt bother me that people see that i have printed that. But this is what all the drama about Bambu is all about.

Everyday a new one @BambuLab

finding a bunch of broken ■■■■ now on makerworld, the “creator center” button is gone its now a small link, under the creator center, scrolling to the bottom used to show all your models with stats but mine is all blank now… They keep “fixing” things that arent broken

@MakerWorld In the future, can you release stuff like this as a small beta program among those who suggested it and then we can give you feedback before you actually release it?

So… @MakerWorld I want to share feedback about that:

  1. Pinned models - the “order” is made by the order you select the checkbox. Re-ordering means re-creating the list of pinned models from scratch. Please make that a proper sorting UI.
  2. The “3D models” tab doesn’t show count. Please show the count of models there since it’s no longer a “home” page
  3. Recent makes… @MakerWorld I ask you kindly here - I would very much like to be able to hide that. And in case I decide that I’m ok with showing makes, I’d rather have a say in what I show. I’ve used Sharing Makes tag on community for those makes I wanted to highlight. You said you wanted community tab to be used that way too so…

Now, regarding “Recent Makes” section:

Recent makes leaking cross-account: as evidenced by @Crow_ck and @Square3D testimonials (I’ve also noticed that on my account) that’s not very nice and very not secure. This potentially leaks user info and has further implications.

Oh Dear…Some people are going to find out what their spouses print. Tf were they thinking.

Jokes aside, i think this is more a privacy concern than anything else.
Privacy that is the top conversation around the forum and that everybody should be entitled to.

Now joking again, yeah, i can see many relationships going haywire after someone finding that his wife/her man printed something “nasty”

I’ve removed all of the photos from my reviews. Just go to the Ratings tab and on each rating that has a photo, click the three dots, then edit, and click the X next to each photo. MakerWorld can feel free to deduct the 50 points that I got from uploading the photos in the first place.

Good to know! I have a feeling that many photos from ratings may soon disappear…

@BambuLab @MakerWorld @Tanklet

Given all the very valid concerns about your security features why would you possibly also introduce privacy concerns as well?

I do not wish to share what I have recently printed, and if I did, I would like to choose what appears.

Forcing this through without my consent is diabolical.

I would have thought you learnt better from your recent face-plant on the horrific messaging you shared about security and then told everyone they got what YOU wrote wrong!

Consent is key in the U.K. and the EU, we have laws about it and not providing consent to opt IN (we require opt in, not opt out) breaches those laws.

You cannot unilaterally choose what information is shared publicly about me or my actions, I strongly suggest you remove this feature or the GDPR laws might cost you a fortune given the penalties.

This is mostly redundant and lines up with what you are seeing…What it really means is that they track print jobs by the printer serial number, not by your user profile - hence seeing jobs by different users sent to the same printer. Bambu is likely tracking the entire print history based on each printer’s serial number. They are also can track slicer settings, etc. to build a catalog of data for print jobs (type of filament, generic or Bambu profile). The amount of data being harvested without our knowledge or consent is very real.

My printer is segregated within it’s own wireless network. Now it may be time to put Wireshark on that segment to see what kinds of activity this printer is engaged in on that wireless network.

They only listing the ratings you did publicly with pictures attached - that you made public anyway.

Man, I’m the opposite on this. I’ve always enjoyed taking the photos and one of the disappointments I’ve had in Maker world is that those makes get kind of lost.

I mean, printables has all my makes on a tab. I always had this dream that I’d have enough time to print all sorts of crazy things and photograph them nicely. I thought everyone deserved to see a pro-level photo of their models  Time stopped that dream short though, hehe.

Where and how are the important factors here.

Rating something that then gets lost amongst the other ratings and scattered across the site means collating all that information is very hard.

Placing it all in one p,a e was t what I consented to when I was informed Hiw my public shares would be shared.

Asking permission to take one and then taking a hundred are two very different things in law.

So, you choose to have this if you were given the choice, others don’t.
