The Saga of Johnny_Bit, what AI dreams it could be ;)

I’ve adjusted it to “The Saga of Johnny_Bit, what AI dreams it could be ;)”

The people have spoken, so shall be done!

Speaking of actual gems - I love the topic Josh made - the hidden gems It’s a great and positive topic on MW board!

Thank you! I really appreciate that and I will be keeping it up

This should clear up the misconception that A.I. dreams of electronic sheep. I love all those designs and the presentation is amazing too.

So this is the snowman lantern I’ve made shortly after the “Paper Snowman Family”:

I’ve then had an idea to make a more traditional one, with nice cutouts etc and this is the result:

However had to do a bit of photo trickery to get the cover image right. Photographing lamps is hard…

Why do (almost) all “modern Christmas trees” lack ornaments? I love decorated Christmas trees and set out to do it right: Tree topper and baubles!

(I wonder whether leaving out “modern” from the title has any impact)

Late inspiration, a bit of “I have no idea how to do that part”, couple almost failed test prints, challenging weather conditions… But I’ve managed to finish on time to join the Trip to North Pole contest! It’s not a decoration – it’s an useful travel item! (that can then be converted into a decoration)

That is clever! Those would make nice gifts with the wine!

This shouts of bragging.

Look at me, I can…

  • Stand unaided
  • Hold a camera in on hand and a light in another, neither are being thrown around due to tremors
  • Have lots of lights facing me without it causes my brain to explode
  • Have a sense of style

You are killing me man!

Thanks! That was the idea

Maybe a bit, however…

Now that’s a lie dear sir! As a life-long coder, my “sense of style” is nothing more than lerned behaviour of “is it clean/whole/not-stupid” and adapting algorithms around that :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t, but if it would help, I could recite some Vogon poetry :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It’s the future with cute attitude! Introducing: Universal Snowman! Wife said I’m not allowed to call the snowman that (because not everybody would get reference to 90’s B-grade action flick) so… Introducing: Cute Snowman All-in-One

The snowman itself started as an idea for a vase, then I thought: “well, the Santa can be a vase, so what if the snowman could be something more?” and it kinda snowballed into what it is now  Even the lamp part was late addition because I’ve noticed that the hat is just the right size for led kit and “darn, I need to add that now”

So - what do you guys think? I bet AI couldn’t dream of it!

Literally my biggest project so far: almost 40cm tall when assembled! 650 grams of filament! More than 4 colours! Oh my… And I did try to spare as much filament switching as possible…

Stackable Christmas Cookie Tins:

On top of making the thing, my 2 main issues were: how to call it and how to make best photos of it? Any tips?

Happy new year!

First design of the year and it’s a lovely one!

Question: Was it a good idea to go with simple title instead of full “heart of hearts”?

Hearthy desing #2 (quite different than previous one), maybe paws for a sec and take a look

I think a lot of red filament will be spilled this Valentines…

I stopped to look, you may say I paused.

Nice photos! I always find lamps hard to photograph.

Yeah, lamps are tricky. My wife’s tip for photographing lamps is to make sure that surrounding lighting is there, but not overpowering the lamp itself. If you photograph in the dark - you get dark scene + bright lamp. If you photograph in bright environment, the lamp is just a bit brighter sculpture. Getting a proper balance is hard - it’s part art and part science
