I give that review 3 stars. I mean, it’s the wrong model, but points for giving 5 stars
I’ve talked to people about this before. I talked to one person who thought it was just one of those generic feedback things that went to Bambu. Collecting feedback to improve performance, type of things. He didn’t realize it was a rating for the model/profile itself. He said he’d change his rating, but never did. Oh well, haha.
I had one of those. They just went off on the printer itself which had nothing to do with me. I was able to get it removed, fortunately.
For anything less than 5 stars, I always respond and ask for feedback. They rarely do. Except for this person…
So…yeah
What I really wish is for some sort of system in place that informs the user when the designer or profile uploader responds to their comment. I’m always willing to make changes, tweaks, or even just help them troubleshoot. But since they don’t respond, I’m left with a poor rating without any idea of what may have gone wrong for them.
Same… Just give me some inclination for the rating.
what in the world, that is a card wallet noting to do with a phone
my guess, the print profile didn’t work well with cloud slicing?
Can’t share screenshots yet but a 3 star rating was written to me:
“Tried to give you 5, but because the first print didn’t adhear to the bed and got canceled I could only give you 3”
Maybe BambuLab should improve the rating feature, if that’s true.
@dubios haha, I’ve had one of those and it had me wondering why they didn’t just use the comment area bottom of the page. One reason why the rating system needs to have a successful print is to stop bot farming operations from rating away without even printing.
haha yes, but it’s still annoying
In all the prints I’ve done I’ve given very few 3 or less stars. When the prints done and I’m looking it over, I note any issues that contributed to any of the variables in printing. If so, then I do not fault the print and rate so the creator can get points.
I do not understand the 4-star rating, but the 3 stars. Because there seems to be a bug at makerworld which sometimes believes you had not print the model, even if you upload images. Maybe there was some communication problem between the printer and makerworld and the finish of the print was not recognized.
I know, because it happend also to me.
So this explains why somebody writes 5 stars at a 3 star rating
Quite possibly the answer would be for the system being changed to a tick box list. Function, Print defect, etc, or similar so effectively get a 5 out of 5 it needs to be good.
I think it is an error in Bambu Studio.
Even after a successfull finished print, I could not rate 5 stars.
I could only rate 3 stars, because it said: At least one successful pritn record of this print profile is required to give a positive rating (4 or 5 stars).
The handy app, did let me choose 5 stars.
I was surprised to learn that sometimes three stars isn’t an intentionally low rating.
Thank you for explaining it.
I have had a number of times where I printed other people’s designs both from the handy app and Bambu studio where despite the print completing without any faults, the printer UI not suggesting any faults and me not telling the printer there were any faults - the rating system tells me the print failed and flatly refuses to let me provide the accurate 5vstars I wished to assign.
I chose not to rate those models as 3-stars is more harmful and false reporting than providing no rating which then does not negatively affect the overall rating.
As a designer, I have received 3 stars after comments using the word “perfect”, I questioned (politely) the discrepancy between rating and wording to be told they were stopped from proving more than 3 stars. I assume for the same reason I was given and other have commented here.
Telling me “no successful prints” and then not allowing me to override that error and give the correct rating is a problem. I imagine the intent was to allow those who print many models a reminder “this one failed when their ratings are not immediately provided. However, unless the success/failure flag is faultless - I must be able to override it.
This has happened to me a few times when the AMS has failed to retract the filament fully after a print, which then doesn’t register it as finishing. Likewise, I decided not to rate the print at all as it will only let me rate 3 stars or less, even though the model is perfectly fine. This is a poor outcome for me and the designer really.
How to obtain a print record of this print profile is required.
One person had this happen- and instead of leaving a three star, they just left a pleasant comment:
Bambu Studio is being dumb and not registering the make I did of your profile, so I can’t upload a rating… I would give it 5 stars if I could as it turned out awesome. I used Inland’s “twinkle rainbow” PLA which has major adhesion issues. I had to crank it up to 230c and slow all my prints down to 50mm/s to get this look. I had another green and red one from the same roll that I gave away before I took a picture. I really dig this design. Thank you for sharing it and the others with the community.
And replied to it with:
By the way I saw this sculpture in downtown Silver Spring MD and it reminded me a LOT of your cup. I thought you would appreciate seeing it.
So yeah, that’s the best way to go about it IMO. If you ever have troubles, just leave a comment that will completely make someones day
