Well that trick didn’t work with the BL clock kit I have.
Did you hit it with a hammer hard enough?
I find that often helps.
You are getting closer to one of the themes!!!
I am going to call this “Sue Perb”.
I enjoy seeing good design, this is why I have my eyes closed when I am doing it.
This is why I close my eyes when looking at a mirror. My heart can’t take such a sight!
No, they didn’t.
Atleast it’s still how I posted it for the US site.
Edit- I’m referring to them listing the cases as a card shuffler. I know they got his name right.
My bad, I misread your post.
Haha, I totally missed that. The case would make a terrible card shuffler.
Nope, not good for wires. They get unstuck after the exact time it takes for me to remember what the hell this wire was for.
The Brother P touch printer are great, but outrageously expensive. Aliexpress have good prices for the labels, but I just went back to good old laser printer and adress labels.
Been working on this! A full sized chess board table. I’ve seen a few similarish designs to this in chessboards and just end tables, but wanted to make it seem like all the individual blocks are floating. It’s broken up into 8 sections plus a few extra bits and the outer brim/row. Each section is going to take about a roll and a half of filament and a day and a half to print. Just started printing this, so hopefully can show some progress throughout the week!
It’s going to be dovetails to connect the sections together, with another piece to secure it all. I’m doing a joint for the leg/stems using a method that needitmakeit showcased in one of his videos.
Almost have 2 sections done! I have my other X1C and P1S printing sections too. Within a hour or so I’ll be able to test fit the first two pieces. I’m nervous. I did a bunch of test prints, but that was that, and this is 1.5kg of plastic.
The cable chain clanks against the side of the case on bigger prints like this. I hate it because it sounds like the nozzle catching on plastic. It’s such a familiar sound to that.
Also, oddly enough, I’ve gotten several false warnings about a clogged poop chute. It lost me about 6 hours total so far. All I can figure is something about having such a massive dark model next to the chute is causing the sensor to somehow trip.
Do you have a commission deal with all the filament companies?
Haha. I wish.
I wonder how much influence I’ve had on filament sales, for like Bambu filament. I’ve been asked a lot about the filaments I use, to the point that I always list them now. So, I imagine people have bought filament specifically for my designs.
I was one of those!
I remembered this yesterday and I have now decided to include the filament information I use as well.
With some of my new designs like the Fidget Gyros and Spinners, I decide the colours, not the design itself (flags, brands etc).
I also create multiple print profiles for each, usually 7 to give 3 AMS choices, 1 single colour (obviously) and 3 PAISE choices for those without an AMS.
As such, I have to consider differentiation in the photos. So, filament colour is really important.
I now have every single colour of BL PLA Basic, PLA Matte, PLA Metal and now I am working on completing their ABS, PETG HF, PETG Translucent.
I also have 65 entirely different shades and tints of colours and material types across different manufacturers like eSun, Elegoo, Eryone, Overture, Yousu and many others.
I’m getting there
although I only have every color of the PLA Mattes, everything else is a little more spotty. I really want some of the PETG-HF. I’m still dealing with the missing order from Bambu though, and it’s stopped me for the moment from ordering anything new. There’s a hand full of filament from that order I needed for a few things, so it’s like well, am I going to have to re-buy it, or are they going to help me? I don’t know. I’m a little disheartened over that. I really dislike Fedex and I’m frustrated with Bambu.
I had yet another screwed up delivery today.
I think BL has gone out of its way to contract the worst delivery companies in each country.
They make it so hard to make a complaint and then make it harder by failing to work through the issues in anywhere near a decent time frame.
When I returned the A1 due to the recall, they forced me to take it to a drop-off location which I can’t do as my disabilities have forced me inside my house for 4+ years, unable to leave. They told me their delivery partner does not do collections, despite THEM arranging a collection for a a previous A1 that should never have been delivered.
They can’t even lie consistantly.
I wont dwell on the whole shipping thing too much. I’d rather not have that rot going through my mind. Trying to keep it happy.
With that, here’s some progress! For anyone that is watching or curious to see. This thing is cool. The weight, the feel, the size. Ahh! Hopefully by sunday. I have the base printing now. I can’t wait to take proper photos!
To be bluntly open for a minute. I’m here today and able to do all the projects I do because of Makerworld. Because of the systems of Makerworld that reward us. They gave me the resources to continue down these paths at such full force. This whole chessboard project was made possible because of Makerworld. Because of Bambu.
I freakin’ love 3d printing. I’ve been doing video game production for 18 years now. So many years of creating fantasy worlds, and all I want is something tangible, that I can hold in my hands.
