Cool; not sure what to think of that. Price is right with the 4 spool AMS. I’m not keeping my X1-C busy enough. I was tempted to order cause it is new, but then I remembered I do not use the X1-C 24/7. If I start using it all the time, I would probably order another X1-C.
Why have you not come out with a large bed version of the X1-C. With an AMS, I would pay more for that one!
Most probably because bigger isn’t always better. Even the Voron 2.4 guys don’t recommend building the 400x400 size.
Precision gets tougher at size for sure…but a slightly bigger volume, like a real 275x275 or 300x300 would open up a lot of possibilities for things I make.
Anybody know the max speed of the new bed slinger? From what ive been reading, bedslingers (especially single upright ones) cant print fast apparently.
Tech specs:
Max Speed of Toolhead: | 500 mm/s |
---|---|
Max Acceleration of Toolhead: | 10000 mm/s² |
Real world:
It prints a benchy faster that the P/X series so it’s not slow.
Didnt think it would be. Was just being sarcastic lol. Thanks for the specs.
It’s too funny that Prusa just released their IS Firmware to the Prusa Mini so it can print faster. lol I’m sure they are feeling the pressure of the Dominator that is Bambu Labs!
Im thinking all the printer companies were about to get faster because of new Klipper and input shaper. Next gen should be pretty insane from everybody.
You are right though. Now bambu has there own versions of a voron and a prusa mini
True, but what these companies don’t have is extensive testing that (you would hope) Bambu has done at high speeds semi-long term. Just because the printers that will get updates so faster speeds work doesn’t mean long term they will be able to handle it. Bolts coming loose and belts/bearings wearing out faster I imagine will become an issue.
I can see so many “is my printer suppose to sound like this” from Prusa owners already.
I own the K1 Max and its been a battle to get it to print good enuf, I had huge problems with bed leveling but ironed that out by making my own bushing in CAD out of PC and making it different sizes in the slicer getting the bed from a 1.3 variance to .4, ringing and ghosting is 80% better after rooting and doing proper input shaping…but alot of people complain about Bambu printers having VFA but the K1 Max is on another level with VFA. Dont bother with Creality Print and just go stright to Orca Slicer I gained better print quality by just doing that. loosing the Lidar isnt a big deal since it doesnt do anything anyway. I now have about 360 hours on the K1 Max and its OK, I use it for alot of ASA and I have seen chamber temps up to 58C if the print is under 130mm. but now that Bambu didnt release a larger bed I ordered the Qidi X Max 3. My K1 Max was a quality control nightmare. I hope you get a good one that just works perfect right away. After owning 3 Bambu printers the K1 Max’s print quality leaves alot to be desired.
I agree. The noise probably did get louder with speed. Maybe even as loud as a x1. And theres always going to be issue. Just look around this forum. I have a feeling prusas quality control will hold up long term though. I hope bambus doea aswell because im fairly invested in the company. Exciting times for 3d print enthusiasts That like more than 1 brand at a time.
Agree with the Qidi Max3 , had the K1 on order but cancelled it and placed one for the Qidi Max 3.
It was nice to see they had addressed a few issue quickly since I first reviewed the model.
I like the Idea of klipper, bit larger bed, core x-y platform, no ID theft behind my back, SS rods, and the list goes on. this will tie me over till the prusa XL ships. I also believe they will be offering some great upgrades to compete with bambu in the short future.
There is also the option if Bambu does release the X1E? but they would have to address the VFA issue the majority of users and future users are concerned about.
I have the Max3. My first printer with klipper software. I do like the many different features of klipper. Changing printer config is super fast and easy.
The best is KAMP. It only scans a mesh for the size of your project. Not the whole bed.
Heated chamber nice and quick to temp! Just as fast as heating up the bed.
Support is good. Two week waiting period for warranty parts. No USA store. I had to buy from the UK store.
Yes you can order a new printer from within the USA. But to order parts you have to go global and that for me is in the UK. I just tried and it once again declined my card because i dont allow purchases outside of the USA. I have an alternate way of paying tho.
You’ve obviously never tried to hire quality customer service people. It’s not easy finding people with patience to deal with “frustrated” customers on top of being able to diagnose technical problems, over text media, often in a 2 second language.
I’m sitting here thinking WHY Bambu did you make me buy 2 printers from other brands? All I want is a large bed 3d printer. I got the K1 Max knowing it was not going to have anywhere near the print quality of my Bambu printers. I just ordered the Qidi X Max 3 knowing the same thing…hoping its better then the K1 Max(heated chamber is going to be useful). I think all of us are asking too much from Bambu, a little over a year after their first release and Bambu turned the market upside down…everyone is playing catch up. All these brands are are putting these performance numbers out, but have not where near the print quality. The whole eco system of Bambu from the slicer, app, makerworld, multi color, etc… I think they made the right choice by making the A1, it puts them in a spot to cater to people not willing to spend $500+ on a good quality printer…in return gaining more market share ensuring that they will be a company in the coming years. I wish they did have that big printer now so I didnt have to gamble $2000usd on other manufactures for sub Bambu print quality machines. Could you imagine in 3-5 years what will come out of Bambu’s RND deparment? To be fair I have spent more money with Bambu then I have with every other 3d printer company out there put together…I truly hope they are around in 10 years.
Did you listen to the interview with Dr. Tao by CNC Kitchen? You have your answers right there…
I’ve read too much here the last few days - but I’m now sure I was wrong. Austin Texas doesn’t play a major role - less Dell style, more Jack Ma style (building up China’s internal structure after Beijing regulated exports) and fortunately no building owners next to the UNO building NY style. Might give 10 years+ but we’ll see. Wait and get a better XXL printer which will fit into the next Bambulab generation…Communist countries have a lot on their plate and, in addition to the printer, they also have to reinvent themselves. This will need time… I think I now have a rough overview for myself and can look into other topics than 3D printing
Confirmation of the correctness of the company strategy
