I’ve recently read the Wiki regarding how to print with TPU and the supported hot ends. The Wiki makes reference to a “TPU high-flow hotend”. I can’t seem to find it. It seems like its the only recommended hotend.
The TPU High-flow kit is only for the H2D and H2D Pro
when printing with TPU depending on what type of TPU a 0.4 or 0.6mm nozzle is recommended but not a high flow nozzle
So, a standard .4 or .6 nozzle is ok?
I have printed 85A TPU with 0.4mm nozzle and TPU feed assist module with no problems, its not recommended but possible. I did have to make a custom profile to do it though.
I’ve been printing my TPU 95A using a hardened steel 0.4 nozzle. However, I should note that I was unable to print TPU using the PTFE tubing from the back of the machine. Feeding it directly into the extruder from above by removing the top glass of my enclosure was the only way to not get underextrusion/filament breakage. I also used the Engineering plate for it, no glue was necessary.
Currently running 85A through the back using A AMS HT and then run heating on with no spool spin. Apart from the manual extrusion it’s automated and I almost got the stuff to feed without any intervention from me.
Would you be willing to share the details of the custom profile? Or at least the relevant items that made the most improvements in you prints. I haven’t done any TPU yet, but want to get my setting optimized before the first go at it. I found a Sunlu TPU85 profile online and I have one roll of Sunlu TPU (no hardness indicated on label), so not sure if that profile is even close. This would be for a P2S. Thanks!

I just modified a 90A profile with lower flow rate. These are the general settings I use for all TPUs to minimize stringing.
