I recently released a V2 of my hex fidget, fixing some of the issues that people encountered. I figured I might as well enter it into the travel contest. It got taken down because it’s “Irrelevant to contest theme”
It is a “Gadget that enhance[s] Travel Comfort and Convenience”
There’s a keychain option, which makes it a pretty “Portable Travel Accessory”
There are many other fidgets and many other keychains. Some of them are really cool, and you can tell the designers put effort into it. There’s also a 2d unicorn keychain. That fits the theme, and so do all the other keychains and all the other fidgets, but my fidget keychain doesn’t?
The fidget in question:
of which there is multiple versions, one of which is a keychain:
They would very much be appropriate for a long car ride. Heck, even a short one!
What do you all think? Please vote and say your reasoning below. @MakerWorld apparently did not give me a way to appeal, so advice on how to proceed if you vote for one of the bottom two options is appreciated.
The hex fidget does not fit the contest, and neither does any other keychain or fidget
The hex fidget does not fit the contest, but the other keychains and fidgets do
The hex fidget fits the contest, and so do the other fidgets and keychains
The hex fidget fits the contest, and only some of the other fidgets/keychains do

Thanks for the input!
EDIT:
Here are some of the other fidgets and keychains. The first one is by NUKDDD, who is pretty well known.
Does “a fidget” enhance comfort and convenience? It does keep you busy for a bit, but it doesn’t enhance comfort, it just makes you forget the discomfort for a bit. Does it enhance convenience of the travel? Also no, because any +1 item is +1 item.
As for keychains: the only keychain that would enhance my convenience would be one with a place to put my rental car’s keys along with licence plate and make and model info… Every time I forget those and keep wandering around hotel’s parking for a while
I like you, I like your stuff, but, I don’t think it stretches that far, nor do the others you pointed out and should now report.
I am now mostly know for fidget everything, I haven’t entered any of mine, didn’t even cross my mind any would fit the theme.
Re: the glow stick entry you included. What is that really? It is only a thing because of the filament choice someone must make or it is just a cylinder.
My only reason for entering is was seeing the dozens of other fidgets. I figured if they’ve been in the contest for the past week+, getting loads of free visibility, downloads, and prints, mine should be fine as well. Especially NUKDDD’s entry, as he’s won lots of contests previously.
I’ve asked my wife and she said: “Fidgets? Nah. Keychains? Either all fit or none fit. If allowing one, they should allow all. If nuking one because it doesn’t fit then none fit and all should be nuked.”
Precisely what I think as well. Unfortunately they’ve had a lot of time to gather downloads in the meantime, so they’ve heavily benefitted already. I’m guessing they’re going to be reluctant to remove NUKDDD’s fidget, as he appears to be a bit of a MakerWorld favorite.
Perhaps @MakerWorld could suggest some stuff that’s not considered to be relevant. E.g. this one could have:
Not permitted:
Fidgets
Non travel-specific keychains
Non travel-specific Hueforge
Coasters
Desk Organizers
Also maybe refrain from just posting another generic phone holder. Be unique.
And perhaps they would also benefit from reviewing all submissions for relevance and quality (they should have quality standards imo, e.g. must have printed version) before they are shown on the contest page. This would prevent people from just posting irrelevant stuff to get downloads.
I agree, but still… no platform that has pride in being “the greatest” should have them, or at least they should try and be impartial and treat all the same.
My 2 cents only. They are worth nothing but still…
Honestly rental services should seriously do this. Have a license plate on one side and the car make/model on the other. It’d be cheap to print them every time they get a new car, and way nicer than just paper.
Superb idea. I once went to a large U.K. amusement park with my kid brother and I had hired a car. Parked it the car park of a couple of thousand cars, problem was, generic car, generic colour. Took far too long to remember where I parked it and pressing the stupid remote every few cars as we walked the isles of cars that all looked like the one I hired.
Sometimes I even have trouble remembering my own license plate when traveling so I’ve gotten into the habit of snapping a pic with my phone. If I’ve lost my phone I have bigger problems…
