Trouble with scarf seams when printing multiple parts

I have the settings dialed in for printing a single part but when i start to print multiple at a time it seems like its tearing out the end of the scarf seams. The seam is pretty well hidden when i set it to random and restrict it to this area. Any one seen this or have suggestions on what to adjust?

Printing with ASA-CF, wall order outer/inner, .6 nozzle, .24 layer height

first picture is of a single part. second is when i try to print more than one. also attached scarf settings

Take a look at that thread - the user had a similar problem, and after that, we can dig deeper into troubleshooting. I have no idea if that’s the case for you too, but it might be worth taking a quick look at the topic. :+1:

I think my issue is something more with what it is doing when it moves from one part to another. i think the end of the scarf is getting pulled out of the print when it moves. Its leaving long voids

That matches what travel between objects does at the end of a scarf: the taper is the thinnest part of the wall, so anything that tugs it shows up as a void.

Three things worth trying, roughly in order of effect.

Print sequence set to By object, if your parts are short enough for the gantry to clear them. That removes inter-object travel inside a layer entirely, which is exactly the movement you’re describing.

Z hop when retracting. Lifting before the move stops the nozzle dragging the scarf tail. Normal is fine, spiral if you get blobs at the lift point.

Travel distance threshold. Lower it so the hop between parts always retracts instead of relying on a short ooze-free move.

If it still happens with by-object printing then it isn’t the travel, and I’d look at deretraction speed and pressure advance for the ASA-CF: a slow restart at the beginning of the next scarf leaves the same empty look.
