Against my own instinct, I upgraded the firmware on my P1S this morning to 1.08.00.00, and now I cannot print at all. Each attempt to print throws a “Failed to get AMS mapping table; please select “Resume” to retry. [07FF 8012 085629]” error message. Even worse, when I go to downgrade my firmware in Handy, the ENTIRE folder is empty, and I cannot do so. My P1S is basically a paper weight at this point. Anyone else run into this issue before? Any solutions while I wait for Bambu to respond to my ticket?
Which version / build of studio are you using ? there are some older of forum threads that have contrary suggestions of sdcard issue ,
So, the latest BambuStudio doesn’t have this issue, so it’s related to OrcaSlicer and any firmware build above 01.07.00.00. Fine, whatever, but the bigger issue is the fact that I can no longer downgrade my firmware in Handy like Bambu promised we’d always be able to do. Furious over that in particular.
Download Bambu Connect to check id it works with the new firmware. If yes, than the reason is the ‚security‘ feature.
You can also try to update/downgrade using SD card, which is a feature since version 1.7.
Just downgraded to 1.7 offline, but this isn’t going to be good enough, since this build has the auto-refill bug. The new authorization stuff isn’t in this firmware yet, because I can still control the printer via OrcaSlicer.
Update: I was able to get the firmware rollback options by doing the following. I have no idea if this is some sort of official process, or just dumb luck for me, but in case anyone else runs into the issue where old firmwares are gone:
- Follow the steps to enable Offline Update: Firmware Upgrade via microSD Card - P1 Series | Bambu Lab Wiki
- Perform an offline update to 01.07.00.00
- Reboot the printer
- Leave the Bambu beta program in Handy
- Reboot the printer
- Old firmware builds should now show up in Handy
Good to see you sorted something out …
So… the impression I am getting is that there is no offline downgrade? I don’t use Handy. My P1S is at the firmware it shipped with in January and I am fine with that but I also realize there maybe something released in the future that makes me consider an upgrade.
Edit:
I guess in my case it doesn’t matter, I am at 1.05.01 and the earliest version available is the 1.07…
Where do i get the 01.08.00.00 firmware file?
I could be wrong but I believe there is no “file” of that version posted for the P1 series (for download), you would need to connect your printer to the internet/cloud and Bambu Lab and then maybe power cycle it. And it might involve Handy. Hopefully someone will correct me quickly if I am wrong.
At some point I should be added here.
You will need to already be running a firmware version (1.07+) that allows updating from the SD card.
Thanks Jon, I did look there first but since they only listed 1.07. wasn’t sure if that was a one off, 1.08.xxx was still semi-beta status or if they wanted cloud upgrade only for it.
I already have that verison, should i download it again and install?
Had the same issue. Since 1.08 no prints started anymore. Downgraded to 1.07 via SD card. Solved.
I updated bambu studio and it worked again.
In my case i can‘t update to 1.08.x on my P1S… the Update will allways fail… You dont habe problems to update?
The same for me after update to 1.08. Downgraded to 1.07 using SD card and it starts working again.
You need the latest version of the bambu studio software and it will print remotely again, but if you are using manual printing(using SD card to move files to printer and using screen on printer to start print) then it may be an isolated issue
Is anyone else not able to dry their filament with the AMS 2 pro in the new firmware update that is supposed to make it work? after selecting “start drying” it just says to remove the filament from the insertion hole, there is nothing inserted and it wont let me continue.
1.06.x was the last usable version on P1. 1.07 introduced an AMS color bug that breaks auto roll continuation on runout. My machine will never be updated beyond 1.06 and no longer has an Internet connection. Lan only mode on Orca, using home assistant in place of handy app. Bambu has really made a mess of things, but there are ways around the mess they made.
