Use filament from another slot when primary runs out?

I have polycarbonate in slot 1 and slot 4. Slot one has run out and i got a notification on my phone to reload more in slot 1. My printer is not where I am. Is there a way to tell the printer to load slot 4 and resume printing using the bambu handy app on my phone? Or if needed on my laptop? Seems crazy its not smart enough to automatically jump to slot 4. Or maybe this us possible but i did not enable in the printer settings?

So long as you’ve set them identical on your AMS it’ll switch accordingly, but if they’re off even a slight bit, no go.

Seems to do so i needed to enable that feature in the ams. I just enabled it via handy app but since print was sent before it was enabled it seems it wont switch over. I guess next time it happens I’m good. Unless there is a workaround.

Correct unless they are set to the same color, type it won’t work. I had that feature enabled and had Bambu PLA Blue Gray installed in slot 4, it ran out and I assumed it would just pick another one of the 3 PLA’s in the AMS. The other 3 were different colors but still Bambu PLA… nothing I could do, I literally had to take a spool out of slot 2 and put it into slot 4 and it started printing again.

You would think as long as it’s the same material you’re telling the AMS to just continue to print after a runout situation but it doesn’t work like that.

i have the exa t same material and color in the AMS in slot 4. Its Bambu PC and it knows its the same but still wont load that material, Best guess is its because the use another material slot was not enabled prior to the print starting. But still frustrating because now the bed will stay hot until I return late tomorrow.

Yeah we should be given a choice to just load the next type of filament if we want to at least continue the print.
