You can do a video on maintenance or how to.

When in crisis of ideas, think of doing something else, change venue. There are way to many YouTubers who are posting videos just for the sake of posting videos, without any clear thoughts or ideas behind, and consequently start losing their audience. Perhaps it’s time for you to start a new thing, doing something else.

Videos are either for followers or for searchers.

Preface:

Followers give you a short boost, but it the click amount quickly wears off.

Videos on “how do I do that” bring regular access over a long period of time, as long as the information is still up to date. First who comes is first to eat, it will be difficult to overtake a 100,000 click video in the search results. That’s where, according to my experience, the copyright lawsuits starts as well and you may will attract people who you can get rid of with experience very quickly. If they then see that the canal has been there for a long time, they won’t even try there thing. But you have to know the copying cases because if they are right… Music, go to professionals and these are not musicians. These are those who tell you what you are allowed to do with it according to there company and how they are liable.

Video on printers will eventually get you followers. These are videos on search terms that are still poorly competitive, so you just have to be quick.

YouTube is a “how do I do that” platform.

The broadest group in every topic is always the beginners - then more detailed the case bcome, than less fewers you will get. On the top level you will just get a view views. So if you run a Company you don`t need a lot of views, you will need view how will call and order/higher you.

So as generally as possible. The information need to stays up to date for as long as possible and, if possible, includes a topic that is not yet interested in 3D printing in order to increase the reach.

To the question:

So if I would put time into this, it would go that way: The limits of 3D printing at home, which extends beyond the 3D printing scene, as only a few people print 3D

May sampels:

  • How to print a flower pot.

  • What is the advantage of a flower pot made of TPU, PETG or whatever.

  • How to print a laundry hook or hanger, where will it break.

  • How do I screw a 3D print onto the wall or how do i desinge it to screw it onto a wall. On what i have to look by selecting a Model?

  • Talk to people around you who have no 3D printing experience and answer there questions. If you don’t want to talk about 3D printing, explore discussions that you could relate to 3D printing in a video - but let them talk and listen even if they don’t talk about 3D printing since you are looking for the topic that you can combine with 3D printing. They don’t even have to know or discuss whether that’s possible or not. Very few people are interested in what you think. They have there own things that interest them and your job is to answer it without they falling asleep.

  • It is always easier to increase the size of the pie than to take the pie away from someone else. If the topic is already online, you were late. Find the topic where you are the first.

  • 3D printer simply explained in general terms (in the basics as sample): extruder, heating block, printing nozzle, mainboard, circuit board, Power supply, fans, guide axes, PTFE tubes, stepper motors with connection to the Z-spindle, etc. Really generalize the simplest basics in the simplest 101. Talk and practice with a child about 3D printers so that you can get the simplest explanations on the most basic parts.

And so on…

However:

People are generally very intelligent - highly focus on there own need. Take a good look at the time when they leave the video. Than you have not provided more or too much information that is of no interest to anyone. If they don’t come at all, you’re talking about something that no one cares about. Than is not the problem that they don`t show up, than you doing something wrong how need your Video need to by changed.

Professional video editing or high-resolution camera recordings also require a massively higher level of professionalism. When you see something in high resolution you usually expect a professional background as well and then you will expect in generall more over all. Poorer video resolution may can also create more trust.

And now may the most important thing: Get rid of the pressure - if you have to search for the topic and you feel like you have to because otherwise subscribers will abandon you, the quality of your topics will also decrease. Topics may just jump on you when you are relaxed. If you have to look for them you are may just stressed or untrained (your brain, like a muscle, is constantly building up the strengths you need).

Damn, Hank … You seem to enjoy yourself talking.

Wait till Malc sees this thread.

Dont worry, Im reading the community feedbacks :ok_hand:

Or Olias stumbles on it as well

And may you will get shocked no matter how much I listen and read

And then you write 100 such texts, which a five-container writer correct - add. it finally one on a SUB URL of your main URL. Make another Jalbum photo gallery with 500 photos wich each getting 4 keywords, ever picture on its own sub url (my largest has 6000 photos) and put the YouTube Video on the top level of the page and let it grow for 3-4 years and maybe add. a forum… Get your Product which you can sale (but please no t-shirts) and then you may find out that there are 3D printers how can made your own products… and so on… Maybe it will work, maybe not… and than may you will find out that you do not to print it by yourself, you even don`t need to ship it since there are companice called like “fulfilment centers”

Well, I’m about to replace the x gantry on my P1S. It looks to be involved and I don’t think anyone has really gone into detail over it.

I’m not about to record anything. I need to focus on what I’m doing since I’ll be taking care of other “while I’m in there” things. Replacing or lubricating idlers, belts, and cleaning. Food for thought.

Most important preparations:

  • enough cooled beer (chug at least one before starting)
  • zen state of mind
  • audible or your favorite podcast to distract you from the bad decision while it’s unfolding
  • zero plans for the rest of the day
  • magnetizer and proper hex screwdrivers to fish out screws you never expected to exist - even at odd angles and deeply buried out of sight
  • more beer just in case of an emergency

Also - unscrew the belt tensioners & their housing completely. You will need as much slack as possible to slide the belts out and in to the carriage.

Changing a timing belt on a typical 4 banger is easier, faster and less fiddly to do (requires significantly less beer too)…

Depends largely on which brand of beer are you considering before, during and after.

Hey, optimize the processor - switch from beer to whiskey, it’s faster…

The volume to buzz curve is to steep on that - too easy to miss & hold zen level - don’t recommend it.

lol. Think I’ll skip the beer.
Halfway done. This would make a great video. So many screws, so many chances to mess something up.

Don’t believe ya! Pic of breathalyzer result or it didn’t happen!

It’s nice that you got through it without beer, I needed half a bottle of whiskey to keep my blood pressure down on such things  But with the insults that will be heard on the video, it will probably get a million views - even if they are interessted on 3D printing or not

While we’re at the point, when someone says they want the quick change system on the nozzle - I point out that the entire head should be changeable with 4 screws.

Well won’t be finished today. Belt too tight and broke the anchor point. Little irritated. Will be awhile now before back up and running. Old one broke when taking off.

Insert stream of 4 letter words. Talk to you guys in a few days. I need a break.

Two words: prank videos. Like to pretend to rob a bank or go up to big dudes in the gym and kick their gym bags. The big market to capture on Youtube is the 6 to 10 year olds.

Oh wait, you meant ideas for 3D printing videos? Kidding, I’m kidding. Seriously what everyone else has said about how-to videos might work well. Also high quantity time lapses seem to do well, like wildrosebuilds.

I dont know if you want advice from me though as I already have a failed Youtube channel (not printermcgee) where I was exploring theme parks and such. I spent a fortune in the process too. When I stopped I put all my equipment on Ebay as “Youtube failure starter kit” and someone bought it
