Warped bed :( seems like a common QC issue

Link it. They have been saying that they have been resolved since April. This is just the same “it’s within spec” doubling down BS.

I wanna see a pic of if anything changed. Is the magnetic sticker still overlapping the plastic surround?

Already linked but they talk about QC from 53 min.

Interesting. If true, that could mean the replacement beds we all received prior to this month were indeed from the old batch that still exhibited the warping issue (but not for everyone), as some folks in this thread have speculated. It’s possible that we all got an advance shipment of the new beds as replacements, prior to their use in new printers, but at this point I don’t believe anything BL says publicly. I know that my replacement bed is warped, and others have reported similar experiences. That’s why I switched to using a glass plate on top of the original bed. So far, so good.

My current plan is to run my P1P into the ground over the next year while Creality and other BL competitors tighten up their CoreXY offerings and keep driving down the price, then I’m going to switch to one of those and never look back. The fact that the Creality K1 is faster than my P1P, enclosed, has a touch screen, and is $100 less than what I paid just six months ago is a bad sign for BL. BL needs to get their act together or they will get crushed by the market within a year…

If you seriously think Creality will deliver a better printer and experience than BL I question your judgement. Let’s revisit this in 12 months, it will be interesting to see where things went

It’s not so much that I think Creality will deliver a better printer and experience, but they will likely at least match it and with their ability to scale and control costs, not to mention their more open approach to technology development and information access (bed leveling data, for example) and the fact that their support people aren’t continually trying to convince customers that a broken product is actually fine, life for BL could become very difficult. I had a good experience with my old Creality printer, unlike my experience with my new BL printer, so right now it’s Creality: 1 / BL: 0 in my personal book. And it’s not just Creality working on competitors to the X1C and P1P. BL really disrupted the market and now established companies are responding. For now I have a functional printer and I’m going to use it as much as I can, until the next part breaks and their support people tell me that I’m once again imagining the problem or a better option comes along. I’ll take another look at the market in a year and see where we are. As you say, it could be very interesting.

This is great news!!!
Placing my full trust in Bambu Labs I just went loco and ordered my second X!CC! :+1:  :+1:

I look forward to my new flat babe… I mean my new flat bed!

May the force be with you mates!

Dish soap may be okay. But dont use any kind of “skin care” soap.

If u use gluestick or so, clean the plate with a good dish soap and then IPA.

I got my X1 this week from the UK, but have a warped bed so there are still some out there. Hopefully support will replace it, but it looks like the only problem is the perimeter being raised up by the plastic surround, the middle part is flat, so if they dont replace I’ll probably try to get the magnet off and shim the bed up slightly. Or I might try to just cut away the magnet that sits on the plastic leaving a gap around the edge.

Wouldn’t this modification void the warranty?

No idea, but I think people are only doing mods after not being fixed under warranty, so there’s nothing left to lose!

I was able to get a replacement bed under warranty almost immediately after they asked for bed data. Essentially confirming how warped it really was. New bed (v3) came in last week and I was finally able to look at it today. I compared to my original bed and its almost night and day different how much flatter it is, in fact, I can’t even fit my smallest feeler-gauge under the same straight edge that I could fit a 1mm under before. That being said, I did have 300+ hours on my previous bed so time will tell if the new bed begins to warp over time.

Got my printer less than a month ago. 0.28 mm bow in the center across x, 0.38 mm bow in the front across x… cold. Hot, you can visibly see the bow. It’s useless for functional parts, which is exactly what I bought it for to trial for our automation OEM prototyping.

Any idea what the average wait time is to get a first response to a ticket? Mines been in about two weeks.

Anyone who has had luck care to share what they submitted the ticket under?

The 3-4 hour hassle of changing the bed is not worth the headache, and still you will be playing heartened lottery. The easiest solution is to glue on one of your included plates (sans sticker) to a 255x255 TronXY lattice glass bed. Done.

One of the dudes here did that above. Quite possibly the most painless solution in this entire thread

I did that. I think you really have to pull off the magnetic sticker, and glue the tronxy play to it. Then use clips, not a magnetic sticker on top of the tronxy plate. I’d get random errors with the magnetic sticker on top, no matter what I did. Even with a thinner aftermarket sticker. The Bambu magnet and tronxy plate are close in weight when I measured. So it’s a reasonable tradeoff.

There is an easy way to change a V3 bed though. You don’t need to fully disassemble. You can unplug the connectors from the bottom and swap the plastic and aluminum assembly onto the old black, steel triangle structure still on the printer.
