Warped bed :( seems like a common QC issue

Wow, long time I did not read this monstruous thread :slight_smile:

I agree with @Lostferret a simple glass with a new magnetic sticker do a perfect job, if it really make you crazy, just buy a glass & a sticker !

My side, I also use glass and for months now :

  • I bought a custom cut tempered glass (because I wanted it to be the perfect size and match the rounded corners)
  • Removed the original magnetic sticker & well cleaned the aluminium plate
  • Putted some cheap thermal grease
  • Putted the glass on top of this
  • Sticked a new magnetic sticker onto the glass

This works very well and considering the price of the printer it’s worth it.

@Lostferret Why the hell did you use some kind a patchwork for the magnetic sticker, you could have buy one that is bigger than needed and then cutted it to perfectly match the glass size ? ok this wont make it works a lot better but it will make it more beautiful

Do you happen to have an stl for the rectangle boxes?

I suggest the full plate print instaed of the small rectangles. Much more info with the former.
Both are found here.

I openend an issue a long time ago, but not yet included in any release :confused:

Would be nice to have some more votes on it

I received the aluminium plate from 3018nc.com a few days ago and prints turn out perfectly flat. Call me silly but I had the goodplate already, which also did a decent job. Interestingly, both have about the same weight. I still favor the metal plate as I believe it should have a better heat conduction than glass.

How does that attach to the bed?

It has metal inserts on the bottom surface for the magnets in the bed as well as a bunch of magnets to hold the build plate. It slips into place just like the build plate guided by the positional aides of the bed. On the upper surface screw heads stick out acting as guides for the build plate. A well made product and easy to install.

Where did you get your glass plate?

@nephilim
Do you have any photo´s of the plate fitted? does the callibrate ok with the builkdin software on the X1C?

I have the aluminium plate on the P1P. It calibrates well - as good as with the goodplate, as they have the same weight. I can take photos later.

I bought it online, there are several resellers where you can choose size, thickness and rounded corners diameters.

What a nice work…sadly no shipping to germany :frowning:
Is this sheet working with the calibration plate or is it too high ?

So I guess the beds are still warped? :frowning:

All Bambu Lab beds are warped. :man_shrugging: But some are flat, depends on YOUR tolerance of your projects. :smirk:

Which one? The aluminium sheet? I got mine shipped to Germany - no problem. And yes, it calibrates well on my P1P. The goodplate glass plate works equally well (same weight). Let me know if you are interested in mine - I don’t need it anymore.

I have done a simple design for people using a different plate thickness :

If required, you can simply scale this model in z direction to match your bed thickness.

I bought one of these too. Not cheap, but made very well and is indeed perfectly flat.

If you’re printing functional parts that must be completely flat, then this is your answer. For all of the time and agony this will save me, it’s totally going to be worth the cost.

Heu… 260$ !!! this is more than the third of the P1P price, frankly I am certain this is a good plate (it must be perfect for this price^^), but this price is ridiculously high.

Three plates == one P1P ?!

I hope/encourage everybody to think twice before buying this stuff at this price. I’m worried that discouraged people will buy this and be cheated.

I can’t see anything that would justify this price, this is a just a machined aluminium plate + some magnets.
