It happens even with PLA (along with PETG, ABS, ASA, ABS CF, PLA Glass Fiber, etc… everything except PCTG) warps and falls off when I do flow rate calibration (or really any print). It’s common regardless of filament manufacturer… honestly, cheaper brands seem to do better than premium. Kingroon is the one I have the best success with.
What I’ve tried:
Thoroughly cleaning with HOT water and Dawn dish soap.
Made 100% sure the AUX fan was off
Glue Stick (Magigoo designed for the materials I’m printing - works about 30% of the time when I do this)
Increasing bed temps (I’ve tried everything from cold to 90C)
Replacing the build plate
Printing slower
Printing faster
Printing thinner lines
Printing thicker lines
Moving to a different part of the bed
I’ve used a thermal probe to verify that the bed is evenly heating
The ONLY thing that’s consistently worked is using my old Creality machines (Ender 3, CR-10S Pro V2). But they’re slow.
If I could have got Bambu to respond to my customer service requests and requests to return the product I would have replaced it a long time ago. I truly think I just got a bad one. Unfortunately, I’ve sent dozens of requests and have never ever heard back from them.
So, now I’m turning to you, the community, for help. What am I overlooking?
EDIT: I’ve tried printing door & lid open and closed, no difference. I’ve also successfully set up about a half dozen other bambu printers for my friends and family, both before buying mine and after. Theirs all work flawlessly.
When I had adhesion issues in the past, it was always one of the following:
bed not clean
wrong print profile
wrong build plate selected
Make sure that you have selected the right build plate and filament in the flow calibration section, especially because by default bambu studio will select the first plate in the list (which would be the cool plate).
BTW, best cleaning options are
Dawn detergent (or equivalent) or
Simple Green (or equivalent) or
Dishwasher
In my cleaning gold textured plate thread, BL support ok’d Simple Green and using a dishwasher. No non spotting detergents. In fact, the cheap dry detergent with NO additives works best.
Dawn recommended by a number of users for it’s degreasing properties.
@luro02 I’ve double and triple checked all of those things. I have the right profile, I have the right build plate, and I have cleaned the plate with hot soapy water every time I’ve ever attempted a print (no exaggeration) and made sure it was completely and thoroughly dried with a fresh microfiber towel to ensure no dust/debris is left behind.
Firmware 01.06.20.16 which it says is current when I check it
Reset - Done that many times. Recalibrated each and every time.
The included files always lose adhesion/warp fall off the build plate. Always. I’ve never had one successfully print. Not with Bambu filament, not with any other PLA.
Your getting good “smoosh” into the texture. ABL seems to be working well.
I know you probably don’t want to hear it but to me that still looks like a there is something on that plate, either oils, fabric softener, silicon etc. That or the plate is too cold. Is the AUX fan turning on at all?
I’ve tried multiple different plates. I even had a friend bring his P1S over and we did a side-by-side. We swapped plates, same issues. My plate worked on his machine perfectly, his failed on mine every time.
I’ve tried running the temp up to 90C and still have the same issues.
I’ve tried with & without aux fan on, with and without part fan on, with and without chamber fan on.
