I bought a P1S and note that the PEI bed doesn’t say it’s suitable for TPU on it…
What sort of bed should I be using for TPU?
Hi VaderAG,
I am printing with standard generic TPU profile on PEI without any issues.
You can check the filament guide for all types of filaments and PEI is listed for TPU there as well: Choose the right filament - 3D Filaments Guide for Bambu Lab Printers
I print it on the engineering plate without issue.
Thanks both - guess i’ll give it a try then - what’s the worst that can happen!
TPU profile on PEI without any issues.
I’ve had no issues with printing TPU95A on Textured PEI without glue, but I ruined a smooth PEI (Bambu HT) plate sheet doing so (I almost never use glue and sometimes I just have to pay for that). I had to resort to a steel blade but it ended up ripping up the sheet. New sheets are cheap though.
With Sunlu TPU I stripped the coating off my smooth PEI plate lol. Worked fine on my textured PEI bed though
What tempurature is everyone running for it to work so it comes off easy? I need to print with tpu this week.
I stripped some of the Smooth PEI off my plate with Sunlu TPU. I didn’t heat my bed up at all. I have a custom G10 plate without heat and that’s fine with TPU
Textured PEI is good, but takes some effort to remove. After its worn in a bit, TPU becomes easier to remove.
If you want a bed that TPU does not stick to as much, BIQU Glacier bed works well.
When TPU is hard to remove from any plate, ten minutes in the freezer usually releases it.
