What causes the X1 to always seem to forget about the AMS?

It seems constantly my 3d printer seems to forget my AMS and the AMS just blinks red. I have to unplug the AMS and plug it back in. Sometimes I have to unplug it from the back of the AMS and it works. Sometimes that doesn’t work and I have to unplug it from the other end, which makes no sense. Sometimes I have to unplug the printer itself. Eventually it works again and then not long after it starts to blink red again. Do I need to do anything to prevent that from happening?

A few months after I got my X1C I had the same issue with a pair of AMS units. Worked with support and swapped out a bunch of stuff and it was really driving me nuts. Then they finally tried sending me a replace AMS Connector Board (AMS Connector Board | Bambu Lab USA Store) and it hasn’t happened even once since. Not saying that’s for sure you’re issue, but it’s certainly a possibility.

Hi @sprior I have the bambu 4 to 1 splitter ams hub thing. Is that AMS Connector board you showed part of the AMS itself? Where is that?

It’s a small board inside the back cover of the X1C a couple of inches long by less than an inch wide. Replace the AMS Connector Board | Bambu Lab Wiki

Thanks. I ordered it. I’ll report back afterwards and let you know how it went.

Hey that worked @sprior ! I replaced the board and this is the first time it didn’t start blinking red at me after a set amount of time. Been 24 hours now and it’s still shows up as normal. Thank you very much! This had caused me to just stop 3d printing stuff for months now. Now I can get back to it.

I’m glad to hear it. I spent months troubleshooting that with Bambu support, doing all sorts of experiments with swapping AMS cables, it really shook my faith in the machine. It took several months to trust the machine again after swapping out the board but the good news it’s been over a year and hasn’t even happened once since then.
