Is there any news on a fix for these issues yet?
Just waiting for the negative reviews of my profiles due to printing issues
I’ve already had one 1/5 review complaining about the supports on something that has over 100 positive reviews, I reported the review saying it was because of the “update” breaking it and i’d fix it when I have chance
They did actually remove the review… but I shouldn’t have to be doing this
The issue has been fixed. Newly uploaded 3mf will not be auto-upgrade to Bambu Studio v2.0 version.
And what about the files that you’ve already converted and ruined?
Will they be restored to their original version?
Hi there, I found out which was the problem with the multiplied pieces. It happened to me again today. But now I know what triggered it!
When (for a reason or another) Bambu studio freeze or stop for some issue when you open the software again it asks if you want to open the latest “draft” (or better it asks if you want to try to open the file that you were working on, I think that is a sort of draft?). So i opened one of those draft today when I was working on a quite heavy file and Bambu abruptely closed. There I found all the pieces multiplied (there were two of every piece, one on top of the other). I closed the software again and I went to open instead the latest saved file I had and that one was ok. If instead I wouldn’t have noticed the doubled pieces and have saved that “draft” making of it the new saved copy, the error with the multiplied pieces would have stayed there. Could you check this?
(added two screenshot of the files duplicated while I am moving them, as you see on the second one, it is impossible to see them if you don’t check the list or move the position, as they are perfectly aligned one on top of the other)
Please report Bambu Studio issues on github. Our Bambu Studio team will handle them.
Is this why my analytics have dipped the past few days?
Should I be checking all my profiles right now?
I see @Tanklet seems to have gone quiet on these issues, so I’ll ask yet again…
What about the files that you’ve already converted and ruined?
Will they be restored to their original version?
You know the answer already.
BL is the Apple of 3D Printing, all about control, and God forbid you try to think for yourself
Wut? I don’t think MakerWorld gains any advantage or control by bricking this many print profiles. So I get the sentiment, but I think it is posted in the wrong topic. I can imagine MakerWorld isn’t happy about this either.
The most important question is though, is this reversible or do all designers have to reupload the bricked profiles again because there is no backup from before the update?
They answered just a few hours prior to this, hardly long enough to say “gone quiet”
These things take time
If you consider over two days as “just a few hours”, then yeah… ok.
I’d still like an answer to the original question though.
Damn I don’t know what happened on my end
It was showing you as 1d ago and them as 19h ago
It’s not now, so I was dead wrong sorry
Edit: Wait no hang on
It says tanklet 1d ago and you 22h ago complaining he went quiet
What do you mean 2 days?
5 and a half hours, since their last post on this very topic and you saying they’ve gone quiet
And which of those responses answered the original question?
I’ll give you a clue, neither of them, because they were in response to questions raised by other people.
It’s now over three days since I asked “Will the original files be restored?”
To date, that question has been resolutely ignored.
Perhaps if you spent a little less time picking fault with people asking a quite reasonable question it might be a good idea - checking your “facts” wouldn’t hurt either.
And yes, I would still like an answer to the question of what MW are going to do to fix the issue they have have created. That question was asked over three days ago now.
If they don’t have an answer for you, there’s no reason for them to keep you updated, you’re not the only job in the pipeline.
All I’ve pointed out is that they have not gone silent on the issue, they are still actively posting here in relation to it, but they don’t have your exact answer it seems
If there truly is a widescale issue that has “ruined” print profiles, there’s probably a lot more pressing things going on in the background to resolve that, and you’ll get an answer when they have one.
I was worried about this too, It took me about two hours to go through all of my profiles and verify they are okay, all of them were uploaded pre-2.0 and all seem to be fine now. I seem to be lucky in that i’m unaffected, but i am still glad i checked.
If it was that important to you, you could have checked some of your own files and possibly solved your issue instead of waiting upwards of 2 days for support.
Whether you have or you haven’t, I expect you will let us all know promptly, even if there’s nothing to report!
Yet again you’ve completely missed the point (you know, the one that I made in the original post about this affecting v1 profiles being “upgraded” extremely poorly which has rendered many of them unprintable without significant work from the end user).
This issue has already been acknowledged as an issue, and MW have declared earlier in this thread that they will no longer auto re-slice v1 profiles.
However, (and I don’t know why this is so hard for you to accept) what they haven’t done is to let anyone know what they propose to do about the designs they’ve already ruined.
I’m glad this doesn’t affect your v2 profiles, but some of us have been uploading long enough that many of our profiles were v1 and worked perfectly before this fiasco. All we’re asking is whether MW are going to restore the original print profiles (which shouldn’t have been touched in the first place!).
And yes, I have checked my own files and many are affected - there is no way that I am going to re-slice, re-enter all my customised slicer profiles, re-print and re-upload over 150 files. That is simply unreasonable to expect.
I haven’t read the full thread yet as I’m just seeing this in the email, digest. Does this mean that if it is a V2 file that it can’t be automatically opened in orca slicer?
So are the original 3mfs getting reverted/fixed or not, because I don’t have the originals anymore
