What's a good list of H2D spares to keep on hand?

Is anything on the list as unobtanium as the 0.6mm or 0.2mm hotend nozzles are? I’m planning to prioritize by how difficult it is to procure. Presently, getting a nozzle could easily take a month or more, depending on how quckly you react. It’s silly that there is no backorder available for out-of-stock parts, but instead we have to rely on a notification or else check back regularly.

I am using thermal paste and it effectively prevented any buildup between the hotend and the heating plate. But everywhere else is still messy ;p

I only replace the socks when they are broken. Hasn’t happened on mine yet, I have 4 back ups though.

Thanks for the tip, I picked up 40 myself. Was extremely cheap considering.

Get a spare laser. Mine burnt itself up from reflections and the guys at tech support said it’s common. I’m like $100/minute on it before it broke.
To be fair, they are warranting it - but knowing to be cautious with mirror finish parts makes sense to me.

Limited stock has broken every spares order I try to put together, and I’m not paying shipping 3 times because one item is missing. I’d rather they let you order then give the option to hold it until it is fulfilled.

So… adding the list everyone mentioned we are landing on almost 200 USD (not counting w the spare laser).
For what I’ve heard, Bambu is deliverying these pieces within a couple of business days.
I assume you guys are all running some kind of farm/business that justifies stocking as opposed to waiting these couple of days. Am I right or am I missing anything?

I think preppers/“might need it in the future” category of people are also considering stocking up. The issue is that often times an item is out of stock for weeks on the official store (at least right now) so by buying ahead and having a spare you can avoid that potentiallity.

^^^Exactly. I’m waiting nearly the entire month of June to buy 0.6mm and 0.2mm hotends, and that’s potentially a lot of downtime if I were to need another in the future. Maybe supply will eventually catch up, or (ideally) amazon will carry it someday, but for now…

What on earth!
By the time half the stuff people are mentioning that will break and you need to stock parts for you’ll already have a new printer!
If parts are in stock for what is essentially a hobbyist printer it doesn’t take long to get parts!

What…if anyone is using a hobbyist printer for a business they are foolish.
There are so called industrial printers for this purpose.

I had the same thought after I’ve bought my first bambulab printer. With the earlier printers I made the experience that there should be enough spare parts in the drawer (nozzles, build plates, heater elements, PTC etc.).

I’ve printed more than 1200 hours (summarized) on all of my printers and I’m still using nearly all of the original parts. So why nearly ?

What happened twice was a big blob of plastics all around the nozzle and the heater. The first time this happened I could remove all of the plastic sticking around, the second time I broke a wire somewhere.

So I have one new heater and a spare nozzle for my A1 printers, two more build plates (very helpful wenn you take it off after printing and let cool it down without any hurry and having another one to put on directly).

I never needed 3DLAC for printing. The included bambu glue stick works well to have a separating layer between the print and the build plate when printing tpu. Otherwise it is nearly impossible to remove the tpu from the build plate.

Certainly you can order spare parts in case of problems but this may lead to printer downtimes as the shipping could take a while.

That hole is a locating one. So when it rips into one big hole instead of two separate ones, you are at a much higher chance of the sock falling off (especially during high speed printing) and causing bent nozzle or a blob developing.

In Canada it can take a week or more to get your items depending on which depot they are sending it from east or west coast. And yes I make money with my printer and it runs most of the time. Having it go down in the middle of an important order especially when the $10 replacement part might be out of stock is not a pleasant experience.

Also does not have to be $200, you can just keep a few of the basics: consumables, extruder wheel, extruder filament guide, the cheap stuff.

When I sold my P1s and X1 I got more then retail for each of them on the used market. Part of the reason was my upgrades (chamber heater, dual AUX, custom stands, E3D HF hot ends, bento boxes) and the other part was the spare parts lot I had to go with each one, so look at it as an investment. They had a lot of hours on them as well (4000+ and 5000+), but it showed the buyers I was serious about maintenance and they both sold in a day or two after listing, while the other peoples low hour machines sat for $1000 less unsold.

Did you replace them all with H2D’s, or did you add other printers to your mix?

Just the one H2D and will be ordering a second one soon. I might wait and see what the H2/H2S will look like before pulling the trigger.

They have some fun green ones now! :joy:

They as in AliExpress or Bambu Labs?

Nice, I want to have two of them !

Those green nozzle socks might actually help if you’re using black filament. Trying to confirm whether black filament is purging during a load cycle against a black background and black nozzle socks with the stock lighting ain’t easy! As it is, I have to grab a flashlight to see if it’s so.

Spares I’ve bought so far:
Left and right heating assembly
Left and right filament cutter stoppers
Poop shoot mechanism
Nozzle offset calibrator
XY belt tensioner
Dual Extruder gears
Dual extruder idlers and filament sensor
Silicone socks
Nozzle blocker
Nozzle blocker magnet bracket
Replacement filament cutters

I will eventually get the circuit boards that are in the tool head also at some point.

I did this and even more with my P1S but after 2000 hours of printing, I have not used anything and I now have a huge box of spares just collecting dust!.. I only purchased socks for my H2D, I don’t think you need to stock anything really.

Looks like Aliexpress beat Bambu to silicone purge wiper availability:
