Is this a problem for high temperature filaments?
ie. 300C limit.
Im guessing will be fine as bambu probably uses the same grade of silicone. But even if I have to swap them a bit more often, not a big deal since they are dirt cheap.
Maybe it’s like the 'ol finger through the candle flame trick without getting burned. If you move it fast enough, it’s all a-ok.
The silicon socks from Ali are the same, rated for 300c. But so far they have been more durable than OEM bambu. The original ripped pretty quick between the holes, the two aftermarket ones are still fine at around 1000 hours on them. Maybe I was overly pessimistic when I purchased 40 of them! But again they were dirt cheap.
When I see this, I wonder if the silicone hardness is comparable to the bambu one given that it’s just a (bad) copy and we’re apparently supposed to finish the part ourselves and cut through the wiper to make it work as intended…
I think they come already cut, no need to do anything yourself. Will know for sure in a few days when mine arrive.
it sounds like it’s almost a secondary h2d lmao
Lmao the stuff you find never ceases to amaze me. I’m gonna buy a few.
Also to anyone wondering, I bought QTY40 of those silicone socks from AliExpress. I cannot find a SINGLE difference between them and the OEM part. They feel, look and measure to be the exact same thing. I have printed ABS/ASA/PC/PA/PAHT-CF with them on without an issue. And I’m glad I bought them, I had a print failure that tore a sock in half.
[Edit]: I bought 10 nozzle wipers, thank you @maximit
Now I am just hunting for the flow blockers… its mind boggling to me that we are months into H2D and no consumables like silicone wipers or flow blockers (just the blades, not the full assembly) available from bambu. We should not be forced to buy aftermarket stuff because the parts we need are not available in the webshop.
Thank you for pointing this out
I have informed our team about the missing parts, so they can work towards making them available.
At this time, I do not have a timeline for when they will be listed, but we will work on this.
Also would be great to get an update on Laser and Cutter upgrade/retrofit kits. It still says on the FAQ “will be available in June”… we are now close to 2 month overdue. A statement about the delay with an ETA would be much appreciated by many including myself.
We haven’t forgotten about them, but there have been some delays for which we apologize.
Our team is working hard to make them available as soon as possible, with an estimated time of 1-2 months.
We will make sure to share a public announcement once they are available, and we appreciate everyone’s patience while we work on this.
