When is this network logon/rebind PITA going to stop?

I run everything from bambu through a dedicated linux wifi, so it cannot touch anything on my phone or computer.
I also dont use my regular phone for bambu, but an old one that is not connected to anything that holds personal info.

But if i run it without the app, i have never had to resync (did this for about 7 months on my X1C)

I have printed 35ish hours on the QIDI Plus 4 and it is great so far. ASA and PLA have been able to print at stock settings with great results.

Strong first post. Who was that directed to?

I guess, he may have thought wiser afterwards and took his post down. Not a good look for a first post. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Baha…that was hilarious
Anyway…point doesnt go away…we are not hackers not do we need to do anything except firmly illustrate the error of Bambus ways in assuming the ROI on their intrusion is an extra paycheck
Like I said, EVERY single other printer has none of these issues and I put up with it for a while because of the exceptional uniqueness of great operation of the X1…but that is fading into the distance as newer, cheaper and better machines without the rubbish start to march ahead.

Dudes’ PLEASE forgive thee. That was a clipboard paste meant for a TURTLEY different website. Trolls be Trollin. Please spare thee thy wrath. Funny how it does kinda fit that hole. As soon as I saw it, I Oopsied the F out, My bad, but… If you still need this fixed maybe you could try a plug-in AP(Netgeatgear Ap, what ev’s) with it LAN’d to your printer, but bounce it through your wifi with a static IP. I can’t see the need for huge baud (broad) band as 802.11n is good up to 72-600 mbps and I don’t think it uses 802.11ac which is stupid fast but please don’t hold me to that. Still trying to find the Tech Manual.(Little help here). Anywho, I hope this small tidbit of info wll be found to be helpful and Ya’ll might spare this poor old soul. (How Old? Like before Commander Keen and the Timex Sinclair 1000 w/ the 16K upgrade old.) As a Wiseman once said, "Happy Printing and God Bless " Oh, it’s supposed be PAINTING but Bob R. is still with us and he ain’t afraid of change. Afros for everyone… ~The Thudcrafter

You should see what they don’t show you. Save your money till March. Think Cheaper

Good planning. You should check out Kevin Mitnick.

Sure hope so. Otherwise I don’t stand a chance. I’m also known by the moniqure Cap’n Blunt. One thing about being an old f… is I truly don’t give foranyone stupid enough to stop learning. I love sharing all my life exerience of fixing everything from Daybreak to Heartbreakl. Seriously. Built my first Comp when I was 13.1975. I remember the internet before it was. Plus I fixed Pinballs and Video games in the 80’s.then off to Fixing 1/4 million dollar mail inserters inserters (10 pounds of mail in a 9 pound envelopeshit. Really cool electromechanics) then off to banking IT Security for banking. The rest, well let’s just move on. Anyways, I’ve been retired for awhile so anything I can do to help, just buzz. And if it helps to save my grace I’m gonna stoop to name dropping.

Well that one was easy.

So many work arounds. Don’t get too bent. Don’t sweat ■■■■ you can’t control. Just think sneaky. They ain’t gonna change for us. That’s why we are here.Hint: If you can’t get the answers from Bambu see if you can’t reach out to the folks suing them for patent infringement. I’m sure if you can talk our way to second or third tier, you’ll find someone that will give it up.BTW, what IS the pressure in your spare tire? 42?

Just to get you started, the party I’m talking about prints body parts.

So do I and for the same reasons I never let Bambu studio (or Orca which I mostly use) connect to the internet and obviously never have them logged into an account.

I block the printer (excepting DNS and ntp ports) in my router to be sure.

The only pains I experience are having to let studio/orca access the internet once after an update to download the network dll and having to unblock the printer and leave LAN only mode and use the handy app to update the printer/AMS firmware.

The last X1 firmware update is supposed to support future updates via SD card so hopefully the second pain has gone away.

I only have one X1 and I have never had to rebind to use the machine. I might have needed to rebind in the handy app to do a firmware update.

Initially I thought your post was ranting about the firmware update pain, but, you seem to have another problem. Having never logged into a Bambu account with studio or Orca there is no possibility they know anything about any account or printer binding. They just reliably see the see the LAN only mode printer on the local network.

The other small downside of being Bambu ‘free’ is getting hardly any Makerworld boosts to hand out  .

So today, it stopped receiving uploads for print from Orca
I rebooted the X1
Then it was no longer available in Orca
So I logged in and it was not in the devices list in handy, so I rebound.

@ZiggyP So would you be so kind as to step by step as now, despite logging in and rebinding etc…I cannot get back onto the printer

Sucn utter rubbish when NO OTHER printer doesn anything like this.

Even when I go to scan QR its blurry and have to keep going ini and out of app yet its crisp and scans fine in the camera. UTTER RUBBISH

This is about NDAs and I owe it to my clients to be able to use totally secure machinery

Cheers

EDIT: It does have a reserved IP on the dchp server. Now Orca cannot see the printer at all desptie switching it back ti LAN
Makerworld??? I work…and only ever prototype clients or my own work…the last thing I need or want so NO love lost there LOL

Im just looking at the X1+ os…has anyone used this? It looks like it solves all this rubbish?

I have never ever logged into a Bambu account with Orca. I block all internet access for Orca in my PC firewall. I also block all but DNS and ntp internet access for the printer in my router firewall.

Orca knows nothing about any account or bind status. The printer is always there to be selected in the Orca device tab. For LAN only mode I don’t think binding will have anything to do with your problem.

I also allocate the printer a fixed IP address in the router. Have you checked the printer is getting the IP address (in its network page). Can you ping it from your computer? I can.

Printer firmware is 01.08.02.00.

Cheers
I bit the bullet and did the firmware…so far it seems to be ok since I added via ID…here is hoping

EDIT
I already had printers grouped and assigned to ip ranges
eg
Corexy Deltas from .201 -.210 from .211 - .220 and so on.
There is no logon to Orca but the availability was flakey as mentioned.

After the firmware update and inital bind using the printer code, it does seem to have cured it although…lets see how it goes. I read about the roll back ability so that gave me some confidence to at least try it
