Where does one select speed modes like ludicrous mode?

Can’t figure out how to select speed modes for printing.

Google search: Nothing. This forum search: Nothing. Bambu Lab wiki search: Nothing. Youtube video that claims it shows how to print in ludicrous mode: Nothing.

Nothing is showing me where these speed presets are, and how to select them. Are they selected in the slicer? Can’t find them. Silent, Sport, Ludicrous, etc.

On the printers display click on the speed gauge icon and you will get the list to select. Then just click on any where on the screen to bring you back.

Or in Bambu Studio → Device Tab, after you sent the print…

Thanks, this is helpful because my X1’s touchscreen isn’t responding to touch, so I am unable to do it at the printer.

Thanks, will use this once Bambu Lab figures out why my touchscreen isn’t responding to touch.

You can also do this in Bambu Handy. Click on the green Printer button and then click on the orange “100%” speedometer button and it gives you the list of speeds.

Thanks, I see this now that you pointed it out. Very cool!

So it has to be set after the print has been started/sent? Is there also a way to just set the printer mode so that each print doesn’t need to be set each time?

It’s not exactly intuitive, is it?

I would like studio to tell me the difference in speed setting (hours and mins) per the model I have loaded, that way I can tell if its worth it.

It would be nice, but easy to now:
silent = 50%, sport = 124% ludicrous = 166%.

The Device page is different now with none of the speed pre-sets in the photo.
Do you know how to select it now? I cant find it on the display either, at one time all I had to do was touch the screen after the print had started and the selections were shown, this does not happen anymore though.

You can also set it from the handy app on your phone. Same deal: click on the speed gauge to bring it up.

Studio now tells you this in the Device page, if you click on the 100% speed icon and select one of the other speeds the times below above the percentage bar will adjust accordingly.

The same applies in the Handy app.

From faffing around with it, I get the impression that I can’t choose the speed mode prior to starting the print, is that right? i.e. it has to get past the startup preamble phase and actually start printing at normal speed before it will allow you to change it to a different speed mode?

Correct. For permanent changes it’s better to adjust speeds in a user preset for process. That also gives you a lot more detail, for example you can bump all speeds except surfaces, so keeping shiny/matte finis and so on. This will also render a correct time estimate in the slicer already.
