The Bambu store doesn’t appear to sell any. AFAIK, it never has. So, what would be a good third party alternative?
Well, I’ll be danged. I guess it just wasn’t where I was looking. Thanks!
It’s not really obvious. I got goofed too.
I hope they release extra sheets for the PEI plate sooner than later.
and Ali Express - many effect-plates for H2D
Is that brands “fine texture” about the same as supertack? I would like a supertack for the H2D
The Glacier has much worse grip for PLA/PETG than Supertack or their own Frostbite version, but that one is not available yet.
Good to know. Does anyone have a problem with PETG-HF gripping? My concern with that filament is removal.
Yes. Perfect first layer tests work perfect with Sunlu hs-pla, but with Sunlu hs-petg adhesion is either a bit spotty (low temps) or so strong it’s unremoveable (higher temps) by normal means. Still searching for the right goldilocks settings, which I hope exist.
I thought Bambu’s textured PEI H2D build plate was expensive, but, wow, Wham Bam’s is even more!
I prefer using PETG on the cryogrip pro than the frostbite for the very reason that it bonds quite well to the later. I’ve still got purge lines embedded on one side (which I keep to PETG). It’s kinda of a toss up for which one to use depending on how much contact surface you have.
The cryogrip is also cleanable with alcohol, which helps. The frostbite and supertacks are water only - as alcohol will ruin the adhesion so that PETG will forever be there
Are the current prices reflecting the tariffs, or were they always this high?
I think I’d prefer a simple plain spring steel build plate that’s the correct dimensions, and I’ll find my own topper for it, most likely garolite g-10. That worked out well enough for my X1C as a DIY, and I’m confident I could DIY one for a H2D based on what I learned from my X1C compilation.
You have a 13% tariff hike compared to your neighbours up north.
Just change the store to Asia, that is the non-tariff price.
I am waiting for the Cryogrip plate to become available, AFAIK it hasn’t been in stock yet on the official BIQU site which is what makes me a little bit suspicious of the Ali Express ones being the genuine article.
I tried contacting Wham Bam about whether they might have a simple spring steel build plate for the H2D like they do for the X1C and other printers, but got no reply.
Maybe it’s too soon. Not yet enough market demand. Too bad 350x320mm is such an oddball size that probably no other printer uses. The closest match would be 350x350mm, but with the wrong back-end geometry at the rear.
Maybe Wham Bam will have it May 20, which is when Wham Bam forecasts their H2D PEX plate will be available.
Well, I guess that seals it. I’ll order another plate from Bambu now.
I have 2 Cryogrip Glacier plates here in use with the H2D and the adhesion is very good. Even when the plate has cooled down completely after printing, the print still adheres very strongly.
US vs Can $62 vs $80
80 Canadian is 58 US bucks.
Now add the 12% Canadian in most parts vs 6% average in the US.
